Mock Off-Season: NBA Draft and continuation of Mock Offseason part 1

Post#1 » by sportscrazy » Fri May 19, 2017 12:40 am

This thread is going to be a chain where each GM makes their teams pick when they are on the clock.

For example, wackbone and the Boston Celtics have the first overall pick, they are on the clock...

Once they make their pick, the Lakers will be on the clock with the second overall pick then the 76ers will be on the clock and so forth until pick 60.

I will try to keep up as best as possible to update the OP with the results. All draft night trade negotiations will take place in this thread too.

Please use this format when making your pick so I can easily spot it as I scan through the thread.

"The (Your Team) select (Player Name) with the (Pick Number) overall pick

The (Team That Picks After You) is on the clock..."

Phoenix may consider trading down from the 4th pick for the right offer.

The Kings are still looking to take on salary for picks (future or now) for youth. We have Arron Afflalo with only $1.5 million guaranteed if waived by the end of the draft.

Hmmm. That's going to make it tough. I assume Dragic is off the table as well.

Dragic is available. What do you have in mind?

What's BKN's pick status? Miami would be interested in Lin if Dragic and McRoberts are moved at the same time. Perhaps a 3rd team is needed.

any chance the knicks could get in on that action

Probably want to keep Okafor and KP but the 8th is of course in play, anyone else of interest.

Is BKN willing to absorb McBob? His $6M expires after next season. If so thinking a framework of MIA getting Lin + 20, BKN takes McBob + superior 1st from team 3.

If we were to take on one, it would most likely be Booker and we could do Booker and #26 for #34. That is certainly an option. I would like to see what others offer before doing this. Is this still palatable?

that could work. it might need to be #27 instead of 26, cap is tight and i might need to move booker to clear the cap to make the trade with portland for 26

EditL yes it would need to be number 27.

No doubt. Or we could go crazy and work on getting BKN a top 10 pick.

That will probably work. One spot won't kill the deal. I really like the idea for the both of us (in real life as well). You get cap space and we upgrade our pick.
