You are correct, actually

Actually the CBA allows you to go over the cap up to $100K when taking on salary like you are in the Morris for 1st trade. So you should be just fine.

This is true. In this case I used the Taj Gibson TPE to fully absorb Morris' contract, so I could have potentially gone further above the cap. The reality here is I'm always looking at the next move, and if I'm going to absorb some more salary on July 1st, I need to withdraw some QOs

In that regard I´d take on the Hornets as well if necessary... They can´t do much business anyway.

Hey SD,

I was browsing your roster and saw that you renounced the cap holds of Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, and even JJ Redick. Are you sure about wanting to do that? That will mean that you won't be able to go over the cap to sign them. The cap hold is there to allow you access to their Bird rights. If you renounce that right, then you don't hold those Bird rights anymore. Just wanted to make sure you understood that. If you did understand, then carry on. :)

You have a point there. I guess where I misunderstood is the full depth to the cap hold meaning along with the bird rights. Although I've heard of the terms in question, perhaps I allowed the players upcoming contracts to plant a seed of caution in my mind to where I was thinking renouncing them all together rather than holding on to cap holds. Although it's just a game, it's a lot of financial responsibility to just pay the players a lot of money per contractual year. Don't see how they do it. Big ups to them for doing it.

Looks like I will make some corrections.

The Wizards have updated their roster, target list and available assets based on a recently confirmed trade.
We're seriously interested in upgrading either front court position and definitely need to find a way to add a backup shooting guard, preferably one that can be a spot-starter when Wade inevitably goes down.

What I did was based that on who was selected at the draft selection from the previous draft year. That's how I did my draft selections.

Do you have cap space or exceptions, and/or are you planning on using them in free agency?

If you don't have cap/mle/mmle then all you can offer is the league minimum. If you do have space and just want to know what a realistic number is then you're pretty much stuck looking at past picks and their contracts. But even those can vary wildly, I think Alex Abrines was pick 31 and he's making over 5 million per year while last year's 31st pick Deyonta Davis made 1.3 million. Past pick 35 or so I'd just go with the minimum to make things easier on yourself.

Right now I have more than $50.000.000 in cap space so salary isn´t an issue. Thanks for the info, I´ll give him the same money like Jokic (mid 2nd rd salary).
