I'd probably prefer his Houston version

And yeah, there are several underappreciated guys I'd be happy to use in this pool hadn't I already taken Harden. Also some other less used versions of some players. Relatively shallow pool is a good opportunity to use them.

I had drafted a couple of the other pgs that are available in the past and got crucified for it.

Lowry generlly is viewed favourably in these game as a 3d sort of player. Im not upset with drafting him...he will work just fine with Kawhi and Mourning.

We need votes in the mid-season game.

If nothing else I think I have pretty dope defense, lol

2-DPOYs and an all NBA 1st team defender. Lowry is my worst defender and he has always been a positive player on that end of the court.

Which probably wasn't the best move- every pool is different and I'm not sure Harden would do as poorly in this pool as he did in the last game. But whatever. The negative taste in my mouth was strong.

I wanted Peja, but figured it was an automatic GG if I started him with Dirk if I faced Lebron or KD.

I kinda regretted taking Posey over Peja the minute I did it. Was overthinking this.

That's part of the problem for middle picks. I feel much less convenient to take the more risky pick.

Pretty much had to go Peja there. Great third option who fits well with both my stars and doesn't force me to break the bank. I feel much better about the Battier pick now.

Pau Gasol is so underrated in our games. I realize Center is the most important defensive position, but it's not like he was a traffic cone or something. He was a decent post up defender and a serviceable rim protector. He didn't have the lateral quicks to defend the perimeter (which is why I'd never use him at PF), but the same goes for the vast majority of bigs. In a vacuum, I consider him a better player than his brother who's a regular in our games.

Love Pau, but the fact that he's best at the 5 is what hurts him. I agree that he's the better player, but his brother is the better defender which is the premium skill for that position, and also has some prime seasons where he's a quality floor spacer which is also valuable. Pau falls within that nebulous region where he's average or below defensively for a 5 (especially compared to most of his counterparts in these games), but not quite at the level offensively where people are willing to take the risk anyway. I've had some success with him over the last couple of years, but it very much depends on the pool and the matchups.
