I thought about the Mavs core cause I knew you could get a great slashing wild card in Round 3 easier than a shooter, but the Raptors are a bit more matchup friendly. Having Mikal helps though.

I considered taking Harden/CP in the first or second round but I didn't find it to be a particularly easy group to add to in this pool without compromising fit.

Hmm. When flaco said "lets try something different" I guess I assumed he'd pick a different core than what he did in the last game.

I thought the same thing.

5-out spacing with tons of wings isn't very different

I actually think the other Warrior available would have made for an interesting case with the Boston Core, giving them more playmaking and rim protection.

I do think Klay gives the offense more variety- none of Brown, Pierce, or Tatum are nearly as good off ball as he is.

He also took a moderate hit with Smart instead of White (the LR/Flaco war for Derrick White continues).

I would have taken the Thunder core with Harden and a certain elite swing scorer. Would never touch the other guard from the Thunder. I hate his game. Missed out on Harden cause I was offline. Oh well. I guess the Celtics core is deeper with 4 starting-calibre players.

Is a player eligible for wild card if they were all-star/all NBA prior to 89-90 season or after the 22-23 season?

4. Your four wild cards can be from any team or season from 1989-90 to 2022-23. However, you may select only one wild card who ever earned all-NBA or all-star awards, and the highest career award must be second team all-NBA or lower. All-defensive / all-rookie selections do not count as All-NBA selections. The other three wild cards must have never earned all-NBA or all-star honors.

No. These wordings suggest that accolades before that time frame count.

Snakebites neutered the core I wanted to see added to, but I understand the reasoning. The Pistons championship core is utter poop without Billups.

(which is why it was such an awesome team to win a title with)

Strongly considered adding these guys to Jimmy but couldn't pass up Joker

I’ve played enough these to know that at the end of the day it’s hard to win without a bonafide number one option. I thought about running Ray Allen with that core but I wanted to keep things open.

Glad I grabbed Billups though.

If I'd been further down the order, I had a pie-in-the-sky plan to take Jimmy and Mikal Bridges, then add that Pistons core. Wasn't very realistic (Jimmy wasn't lasting past the middle, and that 2022-23 season is a game-changer for Bridges), but it would have been interesting to see that group with a legit primary scorer who also fits their ethos to a T.

Yeah I ultimately wasn't confident I could get Bridges, the Pistons core, AND the elite all-star wing I'd need to make that pop.

There was too real a concern that Billups would be selected as a wild card, and in addition to that Jimmy was really the only wing I truly felt I could sell as a first option around that group. The closest I could get was Mikal with Ray Allen, and while I loved that fit too, it wasn't worth the risk of not getting the Pistons group AND losing out on other cores I might have been interested in.

I still considered it up until the last second though.

Thought Colbinii would save his core for last since he was the only person left to pick one.

I was deciding between this core and two others, one of which had a
Read on Twitter
who will likely be picked in this draft.

Had I waited, someone could have taken a key piece of these cores.

But I don't think anyone was taking Ostertag or Hornacek.

Yeah, you and LR weren't about to waste your All-Star spot on Hornacek and Stock/Malone were both unselectable.
