People hate on Bettman all the time but he basically kept teams in Ottawa and Edmonton afloat when most expected them to move. In 1996 nobody wanted to buy the team in Winnipeg which is why they jmoved. With the new CBA and the Canadian dollar at par its unthinkable but a few years ago it was a real possibility. But he fought tooth and nail to keep those teams in those cities. Hes doing the same for American cities and people act like he hates Canada.

Although it is good to see he swallowed some of his pride and let us back in, it would take a big man to get over the little big man syndrom and admit that his big vision of the NHL through out the southern states probably wont be a reality any time sone.
