This is a Wizards loss. It sounds like nothing but one of those games where they tease you and make you think they MIGHT win, but they won't.
Bye bye Beal.

Not to sound negative, but this team is owned by an arrogant cheapskate, managed by a moron and coached by an idiot. Recipe for disaster. Not to mention our "elite" franchise savior point guard who we will most likely give a max deal to, cant shoot outside of 15 feet while other teams pgs are knocking down threes.

Mabye if Nene spent more time rebounding instead of flopping, he'd average a double-double.

Not bad for a second post! Welcome aboard, milellie111.

You're a Wizard fan. You feel this team. You get this team.

Personally, I don't know about Mr. Leonsis being cheap. Nene and Okafor, as well as Ariza all make hefty salaries. Also, I don't know if he's arrogant but I think he has been misinformed. By arrogant if you mean stubbornly sticking to his way, in spite of results, I buy that.

(He's not the best coach but I feel the same way about Randy that I felt about Eddie Jordan. I like him and I respect the job he has done with the healthy talent on hand.)
Bye bye Beal.

I'd much rather have a coach I think is a jerk and I dislike and can actually coach, but that's just me I guess.

Of course, some actual talent on the roster wouldn't hurt whoever is coaching.

Feels like another good tank loss.

As for Randy, when you have guys like Temple, Price, Ariza and Booker on the floor together or on separate occasions, Red and Phil couldn't do much with those guys. And then there's Crawford. :(

Thanks.

Ted is cheap. He wont even get us a legitimate coach. Theres plenty of qualified coaches out there but of course he doesnt want to pay. Randy Whittman is a reject and a loser and has no business leading any NBA franchise (except for the Wizards). Randy Whittman WOULD NOT be coaching or considered as a coach for any other team EXCEPT for the Wizards. From wikipedia "Wittman then served as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers for two seasons, (1999–2001), compiling a record of 62-102.On December 8, 2008, club owner Glen Taylor fired Wittman after a 4-19 start, asking Kevin McHale to step in." Just because Whitman is a so called "tough guy disciplinarian" doesnt make him a coach. I guarantee you a good legitimate NBA coach can get more and develop vessely, booker and singleton better than someone who is not qualified. But of course, all of this starts from the top and it doesnt seem as if Ted really cares about this team being serious. Seems to me he's just another fat rich guy who was bored and wanted a hobby so he decided to buy a basketball team to play around with.

It is not Randy's fault when teams pack it in and dare anyone on the Wizards to make a perimeter shot, knowing no one on the Wizards can do so consistently.

Wall can't. He is a brick Wall. Nene can't. His feet won't let him do anything consistently. Okafor is giving his best perimeter game when he makes one or two 10 footers. Seraphin? Please. He and Jordan Crawford make shots because they are willing to miss 3 to make one or two. They take quick shots, dumb shots, any shots they can. Jordan can hit a big shot because he's willing to miss a bunch.

Is it Randy's fault Vesely is on the bench?

Honestly, what could Randy do that would win games? Start Webster and Ariza with Wall? What can he do?
Bye bye Beal.

Who knows if those guys are really as bad as they seem. They could be, or they could be hampered by a bad coach. I actually think Seraphin could be a dominant big man. However he has a coach who allows him to shoot at will like a SG instead of being developed into an actual post player.

Randy gets his teams to play hard. If you look at it in betting terms, the Wizards are the best covering team in the NBA. I believe they had covered 10 straight games until Beal sat out so you know they are at least playing teams closely. He's not an x's and o's genius but I can't blame him for coaching guys that can't play. That's EG's fault for assembling this team and to be honest, if they were healthy at the start, they wouldn't be nearly this bad.

Nene gets 4 rebounds in 33 minutes. Seraphin 2 in 20. Outrebounded 46-31. No matter how bad you shoot, if you grab an offensive rebound, you might be able to score easier.

I feel for randy in that he does have an odd assortment of ingredients to cook with...but for the most part it just seems he's just serving it to us raw...the rotations don't make sense, he takes forever to match up against opposing players...he's just not a very good...in game coach. Like a chef who has no practical use in a kitchen.

milellie111, I wondered about Wittman's coaching background before the Wizards. So, I checked it out more closely.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/coa ... ra01c.html

His first season with Cleveland, Randy went 32-50. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CLE/2000.html

His best big man was "fat" Shawn Kemp, post-Seattle and in the midst of substance problems. His next best big man was Danny Ferry. He had a young Andre Miller, 13 years ago, and after him, Randy's best players were Brevin Knight and Earl Boykins. When I saw that roster I considered 32 wins pretty good!

Randy's next season with the Cavaliers, http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CLE/2001.html , Wittman only won 30 games.

Wittman's best big man after they got rid of Kemp: 30 year-old Clarence Weatherspoon. He had a lot of tweeners who were just playing together. Lamond Murray, Matt Harpring, and 30-year old Jim Jackson. His other bigs were Robert Tractor Traylor and rookie Chris Mihm. That group per basketball-reference should have won about 28 games.

The first sign of bad coaching: Randy's 12-30 run with Minnesota, after taking over a 20-20 team. That team was KG's last and Mike James was the PG. Mark Blount was the C. Ricky Davis was the SG. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2008.html

Randy's last with Minnesota: 22-60. That was the Al Jefferson team. Craig Smith and Ryan Gomes were the next best player. http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2008.html

All I have to say is Randy has NEVER coached talent.

Right now they are struggling and it is obvious to me that Randy is about to get fired. He's the guy to go.

That said, this team is not bad because of Coach Wittman IMO. Jordan Crawford's shots are all I put on Randy.
Bye bye Beal.
