Why is Joel Przybilla still a free agent? Even taking the Wizards out of the equation, he should be on an NBA roster.

Putting the Wizards in the equation, he'd be perfect for McGee to learn under. He is one of the best low-post defenders we've seen in the league lately, has a real tough-guy mentality and is a smart player. I know we have Turiaf to fill this void for the team but Joel would be even better and cheaper (assuming he takes the minimum). Also it let's us use Turiaf in a "Hinrich move" (as someone else on the board coined so nicely).

The Blazers have been after him, he doesn't appear ready/willing to come-back to the NBA yet.

i hinted at this in the draft thread but i'm pretty firmly planted in the james harden bandwagon. harden and wall would be the best backcourt in the east, nay the league, nay... the WORLD.

I'd a been interested in a Blatche for Green swap. But Green as a FA, don't get it. He woulda been a nice fit back with Eddie and the princeton, but doesn't make any sense now we already have enough SF/PF tweener types (Vesely, Singleton, Booker, Lewis). Especially not if it is a "big payday".

I'd much rather work out a Blatche + filler for David Lee swap than pay the same amount of money for a Blatche + Green combo at forward.

Thanks. I thought it was too good to be true and he was out of the league on his own terms.

Re Jeff Green:

Good player and I really root for him but I have mixed feelings on him being here. He's another tweener which we have plenty of (Vesley, Booker, Lewis) so he'd be a bit redundant.

HOWEVA, I'd still sign him if he came cheap. Let's face it, we're the worst team in the league. We need to inject some change, build a "winning culture", and have some smart players on the court. Jeff Green fits the bill. Rashard is done as a Wizard (I doubt he plays much more this season and is eventually amnestied), Vesley is at least a couple years away,Booker is your 20-25 minute per game energy guy, and Blatche should be traded ASAP. If the David Lee proposal Nate suggests happens, I'd still sign Jeff. Our players are too damn comfortable because they know they're playing whether they suck or not. If we actually bring in some guys who can play, we might win a couple games and start building some character. Especially smart professionals like Lee and Green.

Thunder don't miss a beat because Green was playing out of position with them. That shouldn't be viewed as a negative towards him....Durant and Green both are 3s....Green was playing 3rd option (4th w/ Harden on the floor) and played solidly...

On Boston he want to beign a bench player on an established veteran team. It was a very tough fit for him. But Boston's regression was based on losing a center in the deal, not because of anything Jeff Green did. How can Jeff Green replace a center? It was a bad trade and Green looked bad based on the circumstances.

I wouldn't Pay Jeff huge dollars but I don't think we've seen him play to his potential in the NBA. I think on the Wiz he would be a good fit. He would provide maturity & intelligence to the floor. He wouldn't hold the ball....Would make quick passes and while not a great shooter, has the ability to knock down open shots. Having a point forward like him would also take some pressure of the pressure to initiate the offense off of Wall. Its not a bad fit. Is there a way to lock him in this year and give him a little money to sit on our bench the rest of the season in exchange for having him already under contract next season?

Jeff Green is exactly what everybody thought he was coming out of college. A tweener SF/PF that lacks the skill set to play either of the positions full time.

I'd pass on Jeff Green, I don't see what he brings that we're not getting much cheaper from Singleton and Booker.

Vesely and Singleton need alot of skill development but they are low risk players. Adding Jeff Green helps with the culture here and Jeff Green is skilled with a decent basketball iq which is what this team is lacking. Adding high BBIQ with a strong work ethic should be a high priority and Jeff Green fits both. I think both Vesely and Singleton need to come off the bench until they have a few season to get their offensive skills refined and during that time we have a Jeff Green that has been trained by other systems and we have a slight advantage because he is from the area.

IF we manage to land a top-flight PF prospect (Davis, Robinson, Drummond etc)

and IF we amnesty Lewis....

I wouldnt mind bringing in Green for a couple of years to be our starting SF.

There is no way i'd give him a long contract. Just enough to "prove himself" and try and get a big payday down the line.

If another team swoops in and offers him more, well good luck to them. Right now I dont think that it would be the right move for us to sign him to a big+long contract.

Spotted a possible pick-off (Never seen him play) Marcus Lewis out of Oral Roberts. I thought his rights were held by the Bucks, but I do not see him on their roster. Lewis is an absolute BEAST on the boards and he can score points. Not sure if he plays under-sized PF in the NBDL or forward. I would be interested in him if we traded Booker.

If we decide that Singleton (or MKG) isn't our small forward of the future, I'd go after Batum or Wilson Chandler before thinking about Green.

Signing Jeff Green would fit right in with all the other middling and worse "talent" the front office has jammed into the roster. Nice kid, but not a starting caliber NBA player. As an 8th or 9th man, he's fine. If he's your starter, you'd better have All-Stars at the other spots or you're not going to win.

Wow, EG never ceases to amaze me. Coveting Jeff Green is right down his alley. Why do I hate every player our front office has seemingly coveted over the years? From Antawn Jamison, Al Harrington, Mike Miller, Randy Foye, Josh Childress and now Jeff Green?

My only hope is that the same front office that covets Jeff Green won't be the ones making free agent choices for us this summer.
