As you might've heard, he signed with the Clippers for 2yrs/8M. How well did he play for you last season? Strengths? Weaknesses? Thanks.

Undersized and he doesn't have a position.

Foye is more of an undersized shooting guard but can play point guard; but needs another to help him handle the ball. He's lost explosiveness and can't really finish at the basket or draw fouls consistently. He has a decent jumper. Your in trouble if he's your 2nd option which was the case during the last 20 games of the Wizards seasons but could be decent role player if he's your 3rd and 4th option.

Foy is capable of knocking the mid range and 3 point play; he can create that shot as well but is streaky. He generally improved his passing throughout the season, but you could tell he was thinking too much out there and his play wasn't always as decisive as it needed to be. He had to create more offense than he was brought into to with a starting lineup of Blatche, McGee, Thornton, and Miller. Has trouble defending quicker point guards consistently but may not have been as bad as keeping up quicker defenders as Gilbert Arenas and Shaun Livingston.

He's okay. He's a good outside shooter and he's pretty good off the high screen because he only needs a sliver of daylight get his shot off. He's a capable enough ball handler to run the PG position in a pinch, but he is by no means a natural point guard. He'll make the safe pass and avoid turnovers, but he's not the type who generates easy buckets with brilliant passing. He's not very good at going to the basket and he can't really break guys down off the dribble without the assistance of a pick.

Defensively, he's too slow to guard PG's and too small to guard SG's.

Basically, he's capable rotation player who can give you a good 20 minutes a game. But if he's your starter, you are likely to be outmatched by his counterpart on the other team.

I'd describe Foye as a competent streaky backup combo guard. He'll win you a game or two when he catches fire, and he'll lose you a few as well, but a bulk of the time, he'll simply give you 20-25 minutes of slightly below average play. I don't think he's worth $4 million per, but I suppose at only 2 years, it's not worth fussing over.

Thanks for the input.

Well, we have Eric Gordon/Baron Davis/Eric Bledsode/Willie Warren in the backcourt, so Foye will have to fight for his mins, but he will add depth. I think he'll back up Gordon at SG as Bledsoe will get more mins at PG.
