Thanks, Ted, for giving us another season of hope-crushing sub-mediocre garbage.

Effin sick of this strategy of “let’s play for one of the last playoff spots so we can get stomped by a real contender”… and missing even that mark too often.

I hope Ted chokes on his dinner tonight.

It was probably his intention from the break to keep things status quo for a full season then evaluate everything at seasons end.

Ted is doing this right and I'd rather it take awhile to be done the right way instead of being rushed and set us back years.

+1

Rome wasn't built in a day. Ted may indeed need to make wholesale changes, but the fact that he hasn't done so yet doesn't mean he won't. Patience.

Feels to me like Ted is pretty disengaged from the Wizards, to tell the truth.
Still, failure ends up on his doorstep.

Sadly, Tommy has not made the team better in 4 years of work.
Nor is there a lot to look at on our roster as a potential source to improve us significantly.

At least 2 or 3 players on the roster would have to get significantly better for us to improve next year or the following one.
There's no one on the roster who looks like a candidate for radical improvement of that kind.

Deni & Corey have room to improve, but not to the extent that they can really change the team.
Johnny still has to prove he'll be a solid NBA player at any level.

Thus there's no reason whatever to think we'll be better next year.
Worse yet, there's no reason to think we'll be better in '24-25 or '25-26.

Nothing even hints of an upward path of any kind.
In fact, we are on a downward trend -- not a treadmill but a descent.

Yet, there is nothing whatever to make a person think that the franchise recognizes any of this.
If they do recognize the facts, we are forced to conclude that they just don't care. At all.

In fact, there is reason to believe that at the highest level -- Ted -- the organization does not care. At all.
It is therefore impossible to conclude that the Wizards will change any time soon.

It would be difficult to imagine a worse professional sports franchise than the Washington Wizards.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

1. They fired Eric Waters in 2016, they got a new medical staff in 2019, and reshuffled it after the Bubble in 2020. So, check that one.

2. He got rid of Ernie exactly 4 years ago now. But, replaced him with his deputy.

3. He did get rid of Flip for Wittman.

So of all the things, the front office still has a familiar face running it after 13 years. This is madness.

Just saw the headline that the Hawks' ownership has given the "green light" to trade anybody, including Trae Young. Wonder what they know that Ted doesn't, because there's no way that Ted would ever trade a guy the team's biggest name. Ted believes that attendance is all about stars; the Hawks seem to believe that it's all about performance. Or maybe the Hawks feel like their attendance will be good either way, so they might as well do right by the fans and win a few more games.

Ted, time for you to run the numbers again! IMO, it's all about stars only if you have TRUE stars. But those players are rare. There might be 5-6 players in the NBA that have the sort of star power that makes a bigger difference in attendance than winning does.

The most telling thing about Ted is he has become a recluse like Dan

No tweets...no interviews...no Ted's take...no Shame. He hates the fans...winning...his basketball franchise

Interesting that he removed his bucket list from his website. I remember it being pretty embarrassing ie “own a painting worth 5M”, just rich guy sh*t.

Why haven't we landed a new jersey sponsor? Seems like we're leaving $ on the table that could (theoretically) be reinvested back in basketball ops, without impacting Ted's existing girthy margins.

MSE had previously indicated that they wanted to bundle Wizards/Mystics/Go-Go into a single sponsorship opportunity, but that hasn't come into fruition.

in other words, "winning off the field."

It cracks me up how much shxt snyder gets when Leonsis is pretty much as bad an owner.

Fair. Still, according to Forbes, MSE's margins are quite tumescent.

"We will be better."

When, Ted?
& how much better? Will we get all the way to, say, 38 wins? Maybe even 39?

The Athletic did an anonymous player survey:

"The crowds inside Capital One Arena in downtown Washington received low marks, too, with one opposing player saying, “It’s dead in there.”"

Thanks alot Turd!

I wouldn't say it's dead. I can get rather lively -- just for the other team.
