The tank race is between the Magic and the Bobcats.

When the Rockets are "on", they are as good as anyone in the league. The problems come when Harden has a bad night and Lin is overwhelmed as the #1 option.

disagree. the problem comes when harden is having a bad night but still won't let lin be the 1st option.... dude just keeps on shooting....

Considering there are only 2 players in the NBA (Durant and Lebron) with anywhere near his usage rate that have as high a TS% as he has - even with his "bad nights", I'd say he should keep on doing what he's doing - and do it some more.

Dwight Howard has got to be the biggest drama queen in the league.

I feel sorry for whatever franchise decides to build around him.

Earlier in the season, Kobe Bryant seemed to be denigrating Pau Gasol with every comment he made about him, and he also seemed to favor of the moves that seemed to marginalize Gasol. But with Gasol out with injury, Bryant says, "Maybe now they’ll [emphasis mine] start appreciating him a little more.” I guess it's in the eye of the beholder.

Kobe: "I really didn't mean anything when I implied that Dwight Howard would be less than a man if he didn't play through an injury that could cause permanent damage to his shoulder. Hey, it worked. I got him to play. It's not my fault he stunk and caused us to lose again."

Kobe's a try-hard through and through. Smacks of effort. As the kids are saying (or so I'm told), he's "thirsty as sh**".

At least MJ's endless DB statements to the press contained occasional ironic wit.

sigh...

Is there any SG in the game playing as good as him right now? Maybe Kobe and that's it. With Kobe and wades decline, I see harden being the top sg in game for next five years. And we could've had him. So sad.

You're all missing the point.

Harden might be playing near MVP-caliber basketball but he also has a contract that makes the owner pay him money for his service.

Mr. Grunfeld and Mr. Leonsis understand the complexities of situations like this and made the correct decision.

I bet TOR is feeling pretty good about that Gay trade. Anyone see the end to the TOR IND game? Wow!

Yep, I saw Gay hit what would be the game-winner, the Raps didn't have that guy before Gay.

Over time, I expect Toronto to regret acquiring Gay. Through his first 4 games in Toronto, he's the same guy he was in Memphis, albeit with slightly reduced rebounding, fewer assists and more steals. And a higher usage rate.

Talk about getting paid. Koke is making 27M and going to make 30M next year. The Lakers have an insane cap number of 100M and they might not even make the playoffs now that Gasol is out. But I guess that is the price they have to pay for now if they want a shot at rebuilding around Howard next year. There 2014/15 commitment is only 10M right now so their books are open to reload if they want a new team around Howard.

Miami's number is insane as well with their big three all with two option years starting 2014/15. Bosh might head out to LA to join Howard as a PF. Wade isn't giving up that money so I think he sticks around. Then again, if Miami can't hold it together, maybe its LeBron is the one that heads to LA to join Howard. He can get that kind of money anywhere he wants. Should be real interesting. I could see LeBron wanting the big stage of LA. Besides, after the Wizards beat up on Miami some more he is going to want out of the SE division

Maybe it even ends up that Kobe signs for less and they have Howard, LeBron at SF and Kobe at SG.

Miami has this year and next to get more titles. After that, I think that team breaks up. Specially if they don't win in 2013/14.

That should open things up for the Wizards in the SE DIV starting 2014/15.

LeBron is on a tear right now. 5 straight 30 point games on insane field goal percentages.
