Baltimore vs. Washington DC. What side are you on?

Outside of visiting downtown Baltimore with my family when I was a child I have absolutely no family ties with Baltimore or it's surrounding area.

However I must give the edge to Baltimore.
Especially now in 2012.
They are honest, hardworking people who will give the shirt off of their backs to help out complete strangers.
The complete opposite of what DC has become.

Baltimore vs. Washington DC.

What side are you on?

Well in DC we'll give you the pants off our legs, and on the metro no less.

Baltimore loses me at the ravens. DC may have a scummy **** side, but I hold that very close and dear to me.

Baltimore has 4 Panera locations, while DC only has 3, so I think you're right, Baltimore's got the edge.

"We'll?"

Those people (transplants) hardly represent DC natives but they are one of the main reasons I have given Baltimore the edge.

Baltimore is larger than DC so technically DC has more.

I'm born, raised and currently reside in Maryland (born in Baltimore County, now live in Towson). I absolutely love it here and there are some really cool places to go downtown that are both beautiful and rich in history. I would tend to agree with WTA that we Marylanders are, in general, honest, hard-working people.

With that said, I have been nothing but impressed with my many, many trips to D.C.

I don't really think you have to choose a side - both have their plusses and minuses.

Yeah, Baltimore is cooler . . . more neighborhood personality (though some of them I wouldn't want to walk in with my Jamaican wife), less lawyers. Slums are pretty scummy in both cities though DC seems more bipolar about it.

I like DC better... Baltimore to me is such a strange place for a variety of reasons. I like that its a big city and all with loads to do... but DC is home for me...

Born in DC. Spent last 4 years in Baltimore. I have a strange connection to Baltimore. Met the most down to earth people in Baltimore. Had a homeless woman give me water she was selling at a red light because "times were tough" and I looked thirsty. As a city, I've got to go with Baltimore.
Who will win tomorrow? I hope the Redskins just because they need it to get into the playoffs.

BTW miller, I've spent the last 4 years in Charles VIllage. Go into Towson a lot, mostly for Trader Joes. Baltimore has whole foods but it's downtown and overpriced.

According to most recent figures, populations are virtually identical. DC needs another Panera badly.

I've walked around naked in Baltimore countless times, and no one even offered me a hankie.

Yeah, I used to actually live near the downtown area (Mt. Washington). Really cool area but just like most of Baltimore, it's really hit or miss when it comes to the good parts and the not so good parts.

And the wholefoods you're talking about is probably the one in Mt. Washington and yeah - it's really, disgustingly overpriced. I feel like the people there are incredibly pretentious too.
