Hope he finds his niche this season and contribute both ends of the floor especially defense since Ariza is non replaceable :D .

heres where you can find a lot of the pics. http://www.bulletsforever.com/2014/9/29/6863163/washington-wizards-media-day-2014-coverage

Eh, I don't see much improvement. His arms look about the same as they did last year. Besides, his upper body wasn't that scrawny to begin with. I'm more interested in whether he was doing squats and deadlifts than I am in whether he's been doing curls.

We'll see when they release the final roster with the "official" weights.

Beal up to the challenge to up his defense. Says it all starts with him and Wall.

Beal says Ottoman is a nightmare to guard.

He never stops moving and he always cutting and back cutting. Long. Athletic. Shooting the ball great.

Loves the bigs they have now. Bully Ball.

This year will come with high expectations for Porter, due to the teams success last year, whether fair or not to be put in that situation is kind of a do or die thing. I mean if he does good/amazing has a breakout year in any way then we will be cheering for him, but if he doesn't perform amazingly like I think h will then.....People will not be very happy looking at his salary......I mean the kid can play, it's just combination of minutes I think and the team having success throughout the regular season and playoffs. Ariza played heavy minutes after coming off a great year, but looking back at Porter you must think this is a HUGE year fair or not for him.

I will say watching some Pierce interviews hearing some things he's already said. The way he played in the Summer, It seems the situation is pretty well off at this point. That's also what the preseason is for,I say you don't put him under heavy pressure, you give him around the same amount of minutes as Pierce or maybe slightly less. Pierce also acknowledged that Porter needs more minutes and time to develop and grow.

In this interview, Beal talks about first 3 days up to this point of Training camp, and some inside info on Porter and younger players towards the end.

Beal states "I think they've gotten even better.........continue to work hard......because they're gonna play a lot this year, whether they realize or not, we are definitely gonna need them at the end of the day"

Right now, I'd say Porter is an MIP award candidate. Of course, the proof will be in the pudding.

Otto's now rocking Rec Specs:

I wonder if his vision was bad last year, or if this is a recent thing.

He doesn't say much in this video.

He does say its something his trainers wanted him to try, I'm not against it.

I imagine he must have been wearing contact lenses before.

One would hope at least.

Not sure why the glasses would be better then contract lenses though.

I never had a problem with contact lenses playing except they sting sometimes when you get sweet in your eyes.

that and I think they can get knocked out too, But I will say, I know this sounds weird, but when I played basketball for my recreational league....don't laugh I was young haha, but they told me to wear similar goggles to help with vision, but I guess your right......... I got used to them and worked fine. I used sports goggles and knew kids who did as well in baseball which requires a tremendous amount of vision to hit the ball and field in the outfield

and if he wasn't wearing lenses, and has legit concerns with vision after being exaimed by a trainer then yea I think that will help

I rocked Horace Grant-style Rec Specs throughout my playing days. Their frames were thicker than the modern versions, and it kinda of impaired my peripheral vision. But I hated contact lenses, so it was better than nothing.

At a minimum, it'll help casual fans tell Otto and Temple apart. ;)

I need ‘em to see,” he said. “That’s the only [reason] I have ‘em.”
My eyes got worse,” he said. “It’s something I’m trying to work on.”

The pair that Porter tried out earlier this preseason had an annoying glare, and also they kept coming apart. But within the next couple days, Porter said, he’ll be getting a replacement pair.

seems like he will get another pair

19/8/4/4/1....He's going to be an Iguodola type stats stuffer (better jumpshot, less athletic version)

I really really really hope he takes the starting spot off Pierce. Wall/Beal/Otto, or until Beal comes back Wall/Temple or Rice/Otto are our best 'back court'.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.
