I see our team is 29th place for "And - 1" plays with 11 total. The league avg. is 17.10. Top teams are Kings Lakers and Jazz with 23. Are we settling for more jump/set shots? I know the data is early. I'll review again at Christmas time.

Wiz are 27-13 in their last 40 regular season games. I'd be curious as to the collective record of our opponents during that stretch. I think as 40 game samples go, it's been kind of easy.

But hey, winning is FUN!

In the first few games the Wizards rebounding sucked. However they are now at 11th in rebounding rate.

I agree Hump has been a big help but i could have done without the picture. He needs to ditch Kim's sweater.

ESPN's RPM has Anthony Davis ranked 4th overall. I guess there is probably a bias towards players on good teams.

In my stuff, Davis is at the top of the heap. His PPA is still over 300 -- best full season was a 284 by Lebron a few years ago.

I have a hard time believing that Davis will keep up this pace - he has to have a period where he slumps, right? If their guard play wasn't so bad, this would be a very good team.

He's already come down quite a bit. Earlier in the season, he was ~370. Hard to believe he'll continue being this productive.

And yeah, New Orleans has made some really poor choices on the perimeter. Jrue Holiday is decent, but the rest of their guards are dreck. Not sure why they let Aminu depart. He was a decent SF who was an above average defender, if I recall correctly.

Looking at ESPN's new RPM numbers. Guess which 3 has the worst defensive RPM? Worst 2 guard?

NBA Real Plus-Minus 14-15 (420 players total)

Code: Select all

RK NAME            TEAM   GP   MPG    ORPM   DRPM   RPM   WAR
13 John Wall        WSH   23   35.8   1.95   2.79   4.74   3.65
53 Paul Pierce      WSH   23   27.3  -0.23   2.14   1.91   1.66

167 Marcin Gortat   WSH   23   30.3  -2.03   1.44  -0.59   0.76
180 Andre Miller    WSH   23   12.6   0.84  -1.58  -0.74   0.27
181 Otto Porter Jr. WSH   22   20.0   0.64  -1.38  -0.74   0.42
319 DeJuan Blair    WSH   7     5.0  -1.65  -0.42  -2.07   0.01
339 Kris Humphries  WSH   22   21.7  -2.36   0.18  -2.18   0.05
348 Drew Gooden     WSH   13   17.2  -0.63  -1.75  -2.38   0.00
359 Glen Rice Jr.   WSH   5     8.6  -1.27  -1.25  -2.52   0.00
371 Kevin Seraphin  WSH   22   15.2  -2.39  -0.30  -2.69  -0.07

Looks like we have 9 guys legitimately playing well. Wall is playing at an elite level. Pierce is as solid as he was last year and has replaced Ariza quite well. Temple really defended well to start the season, shame his shooting fell off. Gortat has gotten off to a slow start much like last year, he needs to pick it up. Porter hasn’t been bad at all, in fact his high IQ is showing more on the offensive end despite the inconsistent shot. No reason why Blair isn’t getting a look…Humphries & Gooden have been bad and Seraphin is right at career norms. Our backup bigs haven’t been good at all thus far.

Am anxious to see an update of Wall's PPA after his player-of-the-week week...
