We really could use Ivan Johnson at this point.

Yeah, that'd be a guy I look at. We're not going to find a C at this point unless there's a buyout...

Dewayne Dedmon is still a FA. He was mentioned earlier. He is who I'd look at.

Cut Singleton while you're at it and bring in earl Clark.

Dedmon was signed to a 10-day, so Orlando(?) or whoever signed him has rights to him for now. Why we bothered keeping Singleton at-all this year and after the deadline, is still a mystery.

Yep, we'll get to see Dedmon play against the Wiz on Tuesday. Adonis Thomas, as well.

Mark Stein is saying a 10 day deal between the Wizards and Drew Gooden is "likely"

Not sure how I feel about this.

True, but Gooden has a lot of playoff experience for a journeyman, and he's used to playing limited minutes.

Wow. Milwaukee could not wait for Gooden to go. He's a strange player. He'll go on streaks where you think it's all finally clicking for him, and then blech. If I were a GM, I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole or a 10 day contract.

How many times are we going to bring in broken down over the hill plays and claim that we need play off experience as an excuse. No amount of experience will help you if you can not out play the other team.

If the gamble pays off fine, I'll be happy and I'll eat crow and give the guy his due. But that does change the fact that it is a move that should not be made, when there are better younger options available and EG, is just too stupid and stubborn to look at them .

He used to be a pretty good player and a quality rebounder. He's two years away from putting up good numbers. Not sure what he's been doing for a year but at least he as some pedigree and he's not that old at 32. Seems like a favor for his agent Dan Fagan. Wonder what the hell his motive is after making 13.2 million last year. At least he's not a total stiff.

I'll ask the obvious, then quietly go back into my little hole. "What about James (the real) Singleton?"

We need somebody who can play center and power forward. Not a combo forward. I don't know what people expect. Yes, we should have been after some of the early guys that got released before Nene got hurt. Now you're going after scraps.

Funny though. Even as a tweener, the real Singleton brings a lot of what Nene does... Decent passer, mid range shooter, good at boxing out, knows the, uh, "system," battles on D.

How about D'or Fischer, or Pops Mensah-Bonsu ??

Interesting interview with Jay Michael on Comcast. Said Gooden lives in Bethesda and has been working out at Verizon Center. Likely to get a 10 day to see how he - and more importantly- Seraphin does.

Also said Wiz had been talking to Glenn Davis but he chose the Clips - same role, better team. However, had the talks happened before Nene got hurt, he may have come here because there would have been more pt.

Either of those two would be decent call ups. I would much rather see a player get a chance to make some money than for yet another player past his prime be called up to play until injured.
Bye bye Beal.

Think he was just too far along with the Clipps. Had Nene gotten hurt two days ago, we may have landed big baby.

Hilarious. Cut Singleton, and sign him.
