The Putt-Putt I used to go to over in Rockville has been converted into condos. :(

Rollins Ave across from the fIre department. They'd give out an arcade token for every A or B you got on your report card if you brought it in.

Get yourself an armored car and tour some of the abandoned properties.

No one has any money to tear down the old Detroit. WTA would love it.

Actually, because you can rent a 5000 sf abandoned warehouse/loft for 600 bucks a month, the city is inundated in hipster artists who have moved here. WTA would hate it.

That sounds like my kinda jam.

Back in the day when they gave you 3 foul shots to make 2 when you were in the bonus.

I once did 3 trees. Can't remember the time period it took though. Lost track after the 2nd one.

Whoa, that brings new meaning to the word "tree-hugger".

I remember that.
I also remember the Veneman Music down the street, the Tower Records and the driving range that was right next to the Twinbrook metro station.

Can any of you all dunk? I've never been able to. I'm 6'0. I'm about two inches short of gettng enough elevation to do it. But even if I could jump higher, my hand isn't quite big enough to grip the ball strong enough anyway. If I was as tall as my brother I'd be able to do it with two hands.

The driving range was at White Flint, not Twinbrook.

Pretty cushy suburban life for a hardscrabble urbanite such as yourself.

I had friends who lived out in Bethesda, Rockville & Gaithersburg.
Many of them were avid golfers.
I still remember the baseball card shop across from White Flint Mall, Peaches record store, Shakey's Pizza in Bethesda, Shakey's Pizza on Rockville Pike & 4th of July fireworks across from Lakeforest Mall.
Everybody there was trashed. Completely wasted.
Good times.

Today, that area of Rockville is littered with disgusting high rise condos.

Those were good times. The Shakey's on Rockville Pike had a player-piano and an old-time feel to it. Some day that stuff is gonna come back in style - along with Bob's Big Boy. And it really does suck that they took down the driving range near White Flint Mall. I'm a terrible golfer, but it was fun mashing a bucket of balls there after work. And that Tower Records at Congressional was awesome. Local fireworks were best at Richard Montgomery HS - don't know if they still have them. Veneman Music is going back a ways, but yeah that was a great little shop that I used to get sheet music from.

In my younger days I could dunk pretty easily off one foot (could never figure out how to do it with two feet tho). I'm 6'3" with long arms so even though I wasn't a big time jumper or athlete, my 25 inch vertical was good enough. Couldn't do anything flashy or dunk on people but alone on a fast break I felt pretty confident in my ability to throw it down. Now at 39, I can still easily grab a 10 foot rim with no step but I struggle to actually finish the dunk. It seems like I can do it once or twice out of every five attempts.

My hands are my biggest problem tho. Their too soft/smooth, lol. I have big hands, but it's still tough for me to palm a ball because it's slips out so easily. I've seen guys with smaller hands palm it with ease. :-?
