I'm going to save my bitching as to why we couldn't get Ariza on a fair contract in a different thread, as to the task at hand, improving the team: Sign CDR and Ed Davis. If not Davis either Williams or Booker. If not either of them, Blair. brandon rush is worth a look too.

Yup. Basically.

Ernie shouldn't have to think. Just sign two of those guys.

Is it possible we S&T Ariza to Houston to get a Trade Exception?

I doubt it. We can't afford him. Just interesting that his name has always been connected to us.

Some of the low-priced FAs that we've seen before.

HMM,

Do we try and BID on Boozer when he's amnestied????

I think we'll have cap space with the loss of Ariza if I'm not mistaken.

Boozer is expiring anyways this year, and he'd be on a 1 year, 3 million dollar contract. You are not going to get a better player than that in this market for only 1 year. With Nene's injury history, you could do worse than signing Boozer for 1 year at 3 million via a bid.

Man...could you imagine Mike Miller spotting up for Wall open looks. I loved him when he was here. Too bad he has a symbiotic relationship with Lebron's dick.

Rather swing for the fences and bring in someone young. That or just roll with Gooden and Book. Then again, Ernie swinging for the fences leaves us with the Maynors of the world. :-?

A Center rotation of Gortat and Nene, and a revolving PF rotation of Nene, Boozer, Gooden would be pretty potent.

Then sign Stuckey with the MLE. And Caron Butler vet minimum.

Actually, that was Ernie swinging for the feces.

I think we should only use the MLE if we're getting a huge bargain from it. Like Luol Deng.

Which means we probably wouldn't use it.

Wish we could have gotten Pat Patterson for the MLE.

After the Pierce signing, we're out of cap room and exceptions for other players. We do still have Bird Rights on Booker, and we can match any offer for Seraphin. I wouldn't mind both of them returning, even if it takes a two year deal to retain Booker (apparently NY is interested). I'm assuming Gooden will also be back for at least a year.

The only trade option I can think if would be Webster for Jason Thompson, as both have similar contracts (last year only partially guaranteed). But Martell would have to be healthy for that to happen.
