Doc Rivers: Ray Allen not in consideration for Clippers roster spot

http://www.theepochtimes.com/n3/992701- ... ron-james/

A source told Tyler Spence of the RSE Network that Allen is planning on meeting with Blatt this week or early next week.

“Has already informed players he’s signing with Cavs,” he added.

A number of teams are pursuing Allen, including the San Antonio Spurs, Washington Wizards, and Miami Heat.

Nothing but a media ring chaser, hop to any team who the media declares the best team since sliced bread. (ESPN)
I will say I hate Allen even more and I can't wait to hear what Pierce says or can only imagine what Pierce could be thinking, he must think even less of Allen moving to any team that's hot. I hope he doesn't get another ring.

You know the best players want to beat the best not join em, and that's so annoying and boring to see all these players on CLE when they sucked last year

Makes sense why Waiters decides he wants to be cocky now and the media is giving him all the attention he desires. Whomever surrounds themselves around Lebron automatically becomes the topic in the NBA.

This is kinda interesting to look at if held out as true http://en.hispanosnba.com/teams/comparison
If you look at Wizards and Cavaliers average age, (if its updated) then it's about the same without the addition of Allen. If you look at

Wizards are one of the older teams with a lot of experience, but that comes with Andre miller and pierce, cause they provide leadership, mentorship.

Wall Beal, Porter, Blair, Glen Rice jr, Seraphin are the youngest players on the team

http://en.hispanosnba.com/teams/washington-wizards

I find it very interesting that they got a hold of the deal amounts, not sure if they were made avaliable....I remember reading some were not released based on team policy, if this is true that's kinda weird

but

the non guaranteed contracts are R. Butler* 1,448,490 (1)

D. Orton* 981,084 (1)

V. Blue* 816,482 (1)
X. Silas* 816,482 (1)
G. Rice Jr.* 816,482 (1)

does that mean Rasual Butler is being looked at more or valued more at this point, which I agree could make sense

don't ask me why Daniel Orton's non guaranteed is more then Vander Blue or the guards since why would they need another big ><

With Vander Blue and Stockton being released, as well as Webster out of action for at least 5 months, perhaps Ray Allen to DC is on. Or maybe a trade is in the works for a backup SG.

Webster has been out and why would Blue & Stockton have anything to do with Allen? Like we would keep them if we couldnt get Allen? They had no chance in hell of making the team anyways. Also, dont forget that we signed Butler (not saying he will make it either) but he's a veteran shooter

Thanks for the update. Here is a link regarding Blue and Stockton.

Yeah, look like its down to R Butler they are considering and he is 35. So if thats what they are looking at, Ray Allen would be better then that.

But if they are just looking at add another vet to the locker room and they can cut them at any time, then maybe it makes sense.

I'm fine with them giving Glen burn during the season, but come playoffs, we need something more then Glen backing up Beal.

I do not have any sources. I have friends, and also friends of friends. Big basketball fans.

Pierce was suppossedly at some Sushi place called Zentan in Washington D.C. Very random I guess for Pierce to just be at a Sushi bar or what not, so take this with a grain of salt.

Patron asked him what is up with him and Ray. Pierce said he has been talking with him for a while now and their are no problems at all. Also asked about KG , and Pierce basically said he has not talked to K.G. since talking with him during this past NBA draft. (obviously does not mean they have any problems, or am I insinuating that)

Again so many randoms. Pierce, sushi, K.G. , Ray, so i guess this is classification of a rumor.

....I got this from a blog. I am not saying it's true or not.

Yes it was my first post. What is my first post suppossed to look like? I have been a lurker for 6 years believe it or not. A big Pierce fan, and studied at Connecticut, in 2000, so i knew about Ray's legendary status. I thought it was the right time to post since its a rumour I got from another blog I follow.

One guy asks about the sushi thing. I do not know what that has to do with anything other than the fact he was supposedly at a restaurant that serves it.

I am not trying to make anyone believe or not believe it. Just wanted to know if anyone had more info on it.

Wizfactor, don't leave us hanging! What kind of sushi did Pierce eat?

My sources tell me he ate edamame but declined to have miso soup. But I also was unable to confirm this. Was anyone actually there who can speak objectively about this?

Well I guess he rather play alongside Lebron, Kyrlie and Love over Pierce, Wall and Beal. :-? That's ok, we have Glen Rice. He has more friends on the Cavaliers, so it will be easier for him to fit in.

It's entirely possible, if not plausible, that Rice will be better than Allen this season anyway.

Allen at this point I think is nothing but a good spot up shooter. His production is so-so. He shoots well from 3 and thats about to really worry bout. Liability on defense to the point where in extended minutes he probably would get exposed on an average team as someone who shouldn't be getting major rotational minutes.

I don't really understand the cavs signing him though. Waiters isn't a bad 3pt shooter and the majority of the SG minutes should go to him and Harris.

And the Cavs also signed Mike Miller...another 3 pt specialist.

I don't get it with Miller, he really didn't play his best ball in DC.

Return to Washington Wizards
