With 20 games in the books and a .700 winning percentage - and still pace to win 57 games. deneem4 is still in the lead...

Hollinger gives us a 99.3% chance of making the playoffs :)

The East is definitely getting bunched up. The playoff race might be pretty crazy the last few weeks.

Oh yeah, well after 18 games, I was in the lead. In fact, I've been in the lead after 4 games, 5 games, 7 games, 9 games, 11 games, 12 games, 14 games, 17 games & 18 games.

IOW, I've been in the lead after 9 of our 20 games.

deneem has only been in the lead after 10 games, 13 games & 20 games -- only after 3 games (to my 9) in other words.

Just trying to keep things honest here, just trying to be clear. Ok? And when we win tomorrow it'll be 10 to 3, me over deneem.

Thank you for your attention. You will now be returned to your regularly scheduled programming.

Now that there win might change the record projections up a little to the higher range.

Now they have to get back to basics and take care of Utah at home.

But regardless of how that win affect the record or not moving forward, good to know they can beat a good team at home.

If the Wiz play .500 ball from here forward, they will win 46 games.

Additional explanation:

I started with a full-strength prediction of 49, and then subtracted 3 to account for extra losses in the first 6 weeks while Beal is out. They'll be around .500 for most of the year, and then finish strong in April to claim home court in the first round.

Let's get the season started! Go Wiz!

I have us..

OCT/NOV 10-5 ( 10-5 month )
DEC 22-9 ( 12-4 month )
Jan 29-19 ( 7-10 month )
Feb 36-24 ( 7-5 month )
Mar 45-29 ( 9-5 month )
Apr 52-30 ( 7-1 month )

Then rounded down to 50 wins.

No way it works out like that. That would be an insane finish. But I don't have us anywhere near .500 the entire year. I have us starting fast, back tracking as we hit the road and go West, then building back up and finishing strong )

Man, MEM was insane last year. They were 13-17 on DEC 30th and still ended the year 50-32 :o

Well with 23 games in the books and a .739 winning percentage, that project to 60.598 wins.

No one wins.. we didn't guess high enough :o

But it would insane for them to keep this pace up.

If they slump and go just 33-26 in remaining games the Wizards still will end up 50-32.

I'm feeling pretty good about my 53 win prediction. If anything I was too pessimistic. Well, we've had a lot of home games so far. Be interesting to see how we're doing after our West Coast swing.

OCT/NOV 10-5 ( 10-5 month ) - CHECK
DEC 22-9 ( 12-4 month ) - Well on our way with 9-3
Jan 29-19 ( 7-10 month )
Feb 36-24 ( 7-5 month )
Mar 45-29 ( 9-5 month )
Apr 52-30 ( 7-1 month )

Would have liked the win and projected that CHI game as a win. Two wins coming up. Just gotta get the 3rd one. One of two of the West coast.

I actually enjoyed the CHI game even though it was a lose. Webster should be back soon and that should help get them to the next level. Great season so far.

Really liking the top of the East. Going to be a war. Everything is starting to ramp up. 5 good teams. Should be fun to watch this session.

I'm loving this team....however (there is always a however) I'm not sure if we are as good as our record. We have been beating up on bad teams. We have only one quality win (vs Clips ; I don't count Cleveland because they were still feeling each other out). I predicted we'd be the 5th best team in the east....we are probably the 4th.

I have Chicago, ATL, Cleveland, Toronto (in no order) in front of us.

I like the chemistry, I have a man crush on Wall, and Piece really is the "Truth"....but I'm not sure we make it to the ECF this year with our current team.

I'm not a fair weather we lost twice fan...it's just that we should have beat PHX and CHI because they were coming off back to backs and we had rest.

At the 30 game mark - youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrr Washington Wizards with a .733 winning percentage (60 games). Congrats to PIF for being in the lead so late in the season.

And for the Wizards breaking into the top 10 rankings that count :)

Well since the thread was bumped.

OCT/NOV 10-5 ( 10-5 month ) - CHECK
DEC 22-9 12-4 (12-4 month) - CHECK: - Edited after DAL lose 12/30/14
Jan 29-19 ( 7-10 month )
Feb 36-24 ( 7-5 month )
Mar 45-29 ( 9-5 month )
Apr 52-30 ( 7-1 month )

Dec 29 @ HOU WIN
Dec 30 @ DAL Lose
Jan 2 @ OKC
Jan 3 @ SAS
Jan 5 @ NO

I had HOU and NO as the two most likely wins on this West coast trip and needed one of HOU and DAL to get to 12-4 and we got the HOU win with HOU on a back to back. No even those **** refs could save them.

So far my mouth by month projection have been spot on.
Lets hope I am wrong and Jan ends up better then I projected.

I would lean toward them losing the next three and then being ready for NO for a potential win

This HOU win was the most important one and we got it.

Dec 29 @ HOU WIN
Dec 30 @ DAL Lose

Ok, we are right on schedule so far for OCT-DEC with 3 tough games coming up. I think they can win that NO game and go 1-2 over the next three.. If they can do that, that's a gravy game over my 52 win projection. Store nuts while you can.

Jan 2 @ OKC
Jan 3 @ SAS
Jan 5 @ NO - key game to win

My Jan 29-19 record is ( 7-10 month ) I hope this is wrong. I can see 8-9 or 9-8 in range but to get there, they need to win.

Jan 5 @ NO
Jan 9 CHI ESPN
Jan 13 SAS -
Jan 21 OKC ESPN and
Jan 28 @ PHX ESPN on a back to back after winning LAL in LA
Jan 31 TOR

Thats not going to be easy. Jan is a brutal schedule. Objectively, I will be happy to get out of it 7-10. it going to take beating some really good teams just to pull that off.

Jan 2 @ OKC - lose
Jan 3 @ SAS - lose but winnable
Jan 5 @ NO - win..this is the key game
Jan 7 NYK - win
Jan 9 CHI ESPN - win .. statement game we need to win
Jan 11 @ ATL - lose
Jan 13 SAS - win..another statement game at home. Going to be real tough. Hopefully we win 1/3/14 instead.
Jan 14 @ CHI - lose
Jan 16 BRK - win
Jan 17 @ BRK - lose
Jan 19 PHI - win
Jan 21 OKC ESPN - win.. revenge game
Jan 24 @ POR - lose
Jan 25 @ DEN - lose back to back
Jan 27 @ LAL - win
Jan 28 @ PHX ESPN - lose but this is a winnable back but its a back to back end of west coast trip. Tough game. Young team.
Jan 31 TOR - lose

That 8-9 with NO and PHX being two key game to change that up to 9-8. If we lose NO, we could go 7-10

Before today's game we were 29th in strength of schedule.

Looks like the depth many were happy about before the season was a bit of an illusion.

Now where is it ?

What site you using ?

ESPN has then 24th but its a real tight grouping from 21st (.490) to 29th (.485) with the WIZ at .488

Two games against BRK and then PHI will drop them down again.

Jan 16 BRK
Jan 17 @ BRK
Jan 19 PHI
Jan 21 OKC ESPN.. They might be .500 or better by then
Jan 24 @ POR
Jan 25 @ DEN
Jan 27 @ LAL
Jan 28 @ PHX ESPN
Jan 31 TOR

So
BRK, BRK, PHI, DEN, LAL pull it down
OKC, POR, PHX, TOR will put it up - Man, starting with OKC, things are going to get tough again for them..

Return to Washington Wizards
