There were some nice positive things to see, even though we lost. Namely, Porter and Wall had good games. Porter looks like he will contribute 15+ ppg. Wall looks like he has matured a lot. I am, however, worried about our rebounding. In spite of having quite a few bits, aside from Gortat, I see nobody who can rebound.

Having Pierce and Humphries available will help the rebounding numbers quite a bit, imo.

DAMN good game last night guys, I really didn't expect NY to win that one. You guys are going to be a very, very dangerous team this season. The media is riding the Cavs and Bulls jocks hard but, I could see the Wizards beating either of them.

Good luck in the season.

I'm a Knick fan who relocated to Baltimore so, I've developed a soft spot for your team.

Gortat had a poor offensive game (1-6 from the field and two turnovers) but he still had 10 defensive rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 assists. He needs to pick it up but he at least he's doing some things well.

I'll sound like a homer but I watched some of the game on MSG and that was a non-contact bail-out foul call at the end to give Anthony the 3-point play. Even Clyde Frazier called that. As good as Anthony is, the Wiz were the better team and should have won. As if it matters...

I also think Damion James looks like an NBA player. It's a shame the Wiz are paying Webster -- as much as I loved his play 2 seasons ago -- the MLE to slide into retirement when we could keep James on the roster now and into the future (which would include his BFF, KD).

EFG: Always reactive. Never proactive.

I'll be shocked if we keep James over Lucas III.

dont worry. James has been solid and he's Kd's boy. We may cut him later if need be but he's good until then. KD says so....lol

That was one of those "Superstar Wall" games. Some sloppy turnovers but he had every other aspect of his game dialed up to 11, he looked like video game Wall.

Porter is good. He isnt the defender that Ariza was for us but his offensive game is already ahead of Riza. Pierce has A LOT to do to show that he deserves to start over OP.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

If I remember the numbers right, a healthy Nene, while never a particularly good rebounder himself, has always raised the rebound rate of the players around him (the old fashioned skill of boxing out?). OF course, that presupposes Nene is, well, healthy.

The Bulls, I can see. However as much as it icks me out to type, the Cavs are going to be juggernauts. Like 65-win juggernauts - "chemistry" be damned.

1) Porter could potentially be a ~14-15ppg scorer on another team but I doubt he will put up those numbers with Pierce starting. If he gets 20mpg I'm hoping for 8-10ppg and most importantly, shooting around 40% from three.

2) Re: rebounding, we didn't have Humphries or Pierce who are both strong rebounders for their position. Wiz will be fine on the boards

If he can average around 14-15PPG then why can't he take the starting position over Pierce later on, and have Pierce as 6th man...

For leadership purposes, I just can't see Pierce not starting. Porter will (at least, should) definitely start in 2015 but I can't see it this season, unless PP just looks like he is done.

If PP is close to what he was last season, then he's definitely not done and will start.

I went to the game, Wall was extremely impressive. Nene/Gortat when on will destroy most teams in the East with their physicality. Neither of them were very serious after the first quarter.

I'm excited to see Pierce school Porter throughout the year. Prefer to keep Pierce as a starter for a number of reasons.......obviously the first being he's a HOF player who still has a few years left. The second is Porter has proven absolutely nothing as of yet. Kwame Brown dominated summer league and preseason one season.

If they keep John Lucas 3rd, I'll be devastated........the guy is just Maynor level awful.
