Fortunately my kids are close enough to walk. It made very little sense for Fairfax County to have school today. I realize they have to make the call before the snow started, but starting with a 2 hour delay would have given them enough time to see it was a real snowstorm.

Sorry to hear about your car.

Apparently #closefcps was trending worldwide on twitter last night. :D

Back in my day 1-2 inches ofunplowed snow was good for at least two days off.

My son texted me that during the day, #closefcps was the number one trending thing on Twitter.

It was a crisp windy 6 degrees in NYC this morning. The wind felt like razor blades. It's now a warm 18.

So it's not this system that might do damage but a Sunday-Monday one that may bring several inches of snow here apparently. I could use another day off!

Dang, media reports are that we'll miss the brunt of the storm, but New England is gonna get it.

I wouldn't mind one really huge snowstorm this year -- like at least 8 inches of snow in one storm.

Yeah in NYC we're now under a blizzard warning. Totals keep going up some outlets saying 2 feet. Should be interesting.

Wow!! White-out conditions in the DMV currently, a rarity.

Supposed to be getting a lot of snow tonight-tomorrow. 5+ inches or so. Gonna make the morning commute hell. :(

5 inches is the norm, looked like the storm didn't hit the 8+ mark that was forecasted due to the dry and cold air

I am a little surprised that Fairfax County Schools closed today. It must be some of the secondary roads, because the roads I drove on were fine.

Winter Storm Watch in effect from tomorrow night - Thursday. Probably the last storm we'll get for the winter.

The Thursday snow looks like it may be for real.

Imma run to the Safeway to clean the shelves of all milk, eggs, and toilet paper.

My dad gets interred at Arlington on Thursday.

Yeah, pine, '"It's going down for real", as the song says. It's gonna snow on Thursday.

Family is at a hotel in Linthicum, MD, tonight. However, it's going to be better to be closer to NOVA by tomorrow afternoon.
Bye bye Beal.
