But Cowherd instead asked Calipari questions about being famous in Lexington, and about recruiting, and about Karl-Anthony Towns. So finally Calipari forced the issue. “You’ve got to stop on John Wall,” the coach said. “You’re out of your mind. He did something six years ago when he was 19 years old. He does a dance. What was the name of the dance? Stop. That was seven years ago. Here’s what I would say to you: he and Derrick Rose and a couple other guys are the best point guards in the league. They are.” Washington Post

Cowherd is a tool. Professional troll. He's worse than Skip Bayless because at least Skip is funny sometimes.

^ was thinking the same thing. My only concern is that maybe John and/or his agent realize that
and want a mulligan.

Once you sign a contract in the NBA, that's it.
Not like the NFL.
John will get his in 4 years.

.
Was just thinking about how John Wall came to be on the Wiz. As I recall, the board went bananas when the Wiz jumped from #5 to #1.

Good times. Watch from about 3:20 or so.

I didn't even know we had won the 1st pick until the next morning. I think I leaped out of my seat at work the next day upon going to this site.

That was the night our franchise finally turned around. If/when we finally win a title, that will be the date that the rebirth of Washington Basketball started.

Re: John Wall Appreciation Thread - Part III
I'm excited to see what he'll be like this year now that the team has signed some more shooting depth. Hopefully that pushes Temple to much more limited minutes and gives keeps Beal a bit fresher.
There's been a lot of focus on the shooting but the other big advantage for us of playing small is being able to get out and run. Having guards that can rebound and adding some more speed at the 3 and 4 (switching out Pierce and Nene for Porter and Dudley/Humphries) should mean a few more secondary break opportunities where he doesn't have to force the issue as often individually. At the very least, it'll mean we get some more offensive boards when he misses and doesn't get the call.

We're talking about that on the Random Thoughts thread.
IF anyone has the backstory behind Cowherd's multi-year jihad against John Wall, please share it. I'd like to know why.

Hey guys would you consider a Bledsoe + Markieff for Wall + filler if need be deal? We can add a 1st rounder too? What say you Washington?

I think I can answer the board and give you a resounding no.
1) We think that Wall is flat out better than Bledsoe.
2) He is the marketing face of the franchise
3) As discussed elsewhere on the board - we don't want anything to do with "keiff" and his legal problems.
4) We are in the KD2DC sweepstakes as well... and a pass first PG should be high on KD's desires
I could see why you would think it fair from your perspective.

By the way SI just rated Wall as the 13th best player in the league. That might be a tad bit too high though, but the kid is a stud.

I have no issue with him being rated 13th he's a boss.
