Kuz was on fire - his shot was so smooth and confident most of the time (FTs ehm.. ) - felt he was in zone - and a mature one.
But gave it to Gaf for his defensive effort and rim protection..

Kuzma, Gaff and Tyus are deserving.

I’ll also give it to Gaff who had the best +/- (tied with Deni) and had an impressive 8 reb, 6 blocks and 4 steals, alongside 16 points on 7/10 FGs.

When Gafford, our only inside defender that makes a difference, plays well - we have a chance against other teams that aren't going to make the playoffs.

All other trades and acquisitions don't make much difference (IMO) until we can straighten out our interior D (and D overall).

I gave it to Deni despite it probably being Kuzma because his unselfish (maybe too unselfish) brand of basketball is something more players on this team should work towards. Oh yeah, he also led the team in rebounds (had a critical offensive tip put back late in the game when all the momentum was in POR direction), was tied with two other in assist with 6 (3:1 ast:to ratio), was making some nice moves off the dribble to open up the floor for others, and was per usual hustling all over on defense and guarding every position. 13 points on 7 shots is good, but if he makes that three and one more free throw and he's likely a more consensus PotG.

I will say, that TO he had late in the game was just stupid. To why he wouldn't attempt to put that shot on the backboard, he's got to get past that and be be a better player in those situations. He also had a couple of shots rim out which tells me he's thinking too much. That three he missed, he was wide open on, and thought about it instead of just letting it fly and it resulted in a in and outer. Beginning of the season he was just letting the three ball fly and not thinking, past months he kinda has the yips.

Kuzma with a great stat line though, but he continues to have FT trouble in big moments. Gafford was great with an almost 4 x 5+. Jones continues to play much better as of late though he seems much more like a score first PG this season than a floor general.

Poole continues to mostly suck. He has three games this month he's shot the ball really well, had it not been for those, he should be glued to the pine. Kispert continues to have some hot shooting (not this game) and some nice takes to the rim, but seemingly does little to nothing else on the court. He looks like he's playing for a contract out there, just trying to get shots up at all cost, constantly getting eviscerated on defense.

Picking Gaf. Without his D in the game, we dont get the W of the game.
