GT #41: Spurs @ Bullets 7 PM (MSN/980 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Fri Jan 19, 2024 2:19 pm

YOUR Washington Bullets are 7-33!

They return home after a good job, good effort loss against the NY Knicks at MSG. Marvin Bagley had a terrific debut and was forced to play most of the center minutes with Gafford's concussion from MLK Day. It was super strange seeing an athletic front court player grab some boards in a Wiz uniform.

Saturday night's game features a Spurs team coming to DC with the exact same 7-33 record. Coach Popovich re-signed on a $80M deal for 5 years after the draft and he seems rejuvenated with his prized #1 pick, roster of young players, and assets for future improvement.

This'll be DC's first look at Victor Wembanyama up close who was one ping pong ball away from coming to the District.

It'll be Wemby's first time playing against his long-time friend and one-time Mets 92 teammate, Bilal Coulibaly.

Wemby looks like baby Bambi the first time he's walking trying to figure out his body. He is going to be a terror if he can hone his body control and avoid major injuries.

Pretty interesting having Deni start on him, he's done a decent job albeit some of it because Wemby doesn't know his body yet.

Spurs guys clowning Kuzma after Deni blocked Sochan's shot and Kuzma swats it again (even though it wasn't going in) and gets called for a goaltend.

Spurs helped us with some bad open court turnovers and sending us to the line.

We helped them with a bunch of wide open threes and offensive boards.

What you'd expect from two young teams.

Dunkin Deni tonight. He just needs to have the mentality that he's going to mash it whenever he gets a head full of steam.

The Jones-Poole-Kuzma combo have been atrocious on defense tonight.

Poole has had some really crafty layups tonight. He should pattern his game after Kyrie Irving's.

Not digging 6-15 and a few of them really questionable shots when he had teammates open.

Our rebounding is so laughable on some nights. Our players literally watch the ball bounce around at times, it's kind of bizarre.

Can we establish with WUJ that Delon is not a traditional point. He shouldn't be a primary ball handler.

Delon 90% of the time makes the wrong decision in offence
