GT 81: Last Home Game v. Lovabulls

Post#1 » by CntOutSmrtCrazy » Fri Apr 12, 2024 11:23 pm

Dream come true watching a game where Deni is as good as he is now, and not have some veteran to arbitrarily demand the ball from him. Don't care if it is against a trash Bulls team, just a dream.

Dare I say we already have our center of the future in Vukcevic?

Lol taking out Vuk with the hot hand. What is up with the coaching staff taking out young guys when they are playing well?

He looks like he gets it on offense, D will be the question. And from that point of view, he doesn't look bad. Some rookie fouls, and he'll need to bulk up but there are things to work with there.

I see him as a 4/5 right now. He gives us the option to play a stretch 5 but I would prefer to have a defensive C with more size as a starter.

If he adds strength/weight then maybe down the road he can be a full time C.

Unless you have a top ten center, I think platooning the position is a good way to go. Vukcevic definitely looks promising in that scenario.

That behind the back pass by Tristan was nice, a pretty long pass that was right in the shooting pocket.

Butler impresses me every time I watch. Scoring in isolation, creating open shots for everyone, playing great defense. He’s easily the best PG on the roster

Just tuning in . . . and it's tight!

The Vukcevic Baldwin front court is incredibly awful

Davis has the best game of his career and gets benched for the last 18 minutes of the game? Idiotic coaching

On a team full of bad defensive players, Kispert is by far the worst.

Butler, Davis, Kispert, and Deni were all great.

Vukcevic is such a raw talent. Through the roof offensive potential, right now he’s not a NBA level rotation player with his awful defense/rebounding.

He'll be perfect next year. Give him a ton of minutes and watch him do amazing things on offense, but we still lose the game and tank successfully.

This - and it should take at least two more seasons until he can figure it out defensively. If we do keep Holmes (which I hope we do), that wouldn't be a bad role model. Works hard on his body and game to overcome some limitations.

BTW, Vukcevic has been pretty decent with his defensive rebounding overall - not tonight though.

First time I can remember PBJ having a strong rebounding game. Davis shooting 3's well. Vukcevic lived at the line (not sure if that's actually one of his strengths or not). Deni got the PG start with no other playmakers which I know a couple of people have been advocating. Not sure he's the answer and Kispert and Davis aren't much help in those terms. It was a strange night statistically.

Last 5 games(90 minutes): 13.3 points 3.2 rebounds 2.4 assists 0.8 steals 0.4 blocks 0.8 turnovers 78.7% TS

Last 20 games(304 minutes): 10.0 points 4 rebounds 2.2 assists 0.7 steals 0.9 blocks 0.4 turnovers 56.3% TS

When they give him extended minutes, he starts to play a lot better. The only other month in which he actually got to play was November, per 36: 12.9 points 5.4 rebounds 1.7 assists 2.4 steals 0.3 blocks 1.0 turnovers. 54% TS

Proceeded to not play him in Dec-Feb. 130 minutes total in those 3 months.

I’m hoping he finds his way to a new team this offseason. Still expecting a Lu Dort/Alex Caruso/Alec Burks type of trajectory. He’s still younger than Kispert whenever he debuted with the Wizards.

Not investing 40 minutes a game into your first rounder in garbage time this season is unfathomable
