Stoked to learn we will have a full or nearly full house Saturday for our concert.
Close to 40 people.

3:50 onward is one of my favorite moments in metal. That melody goes hard af.

As someone whos struggled with alcohol a lot when I was younger, this track is honestly amazing. Spoiler alert, the first third is the listener needing his fix, the middle part is the relief from the high, and the end is the rage from the comedown. Really amazing stuff...

I listen to this a lot when I'm about to fall off the wagon again. Alcohol really is the "master of puppets"...

Ok, so....

This cut has a groove. Settles into it & does something with it. The guitar solo has some lyrical quality.

OTOH, it's incredibly simple, harmonically -- get tired of those 3 chords & nothing there.
Stylistically, it actually has a kind of reach-back feel -- they sound just a little like Cream for example.

Thing is... I'd listen to Sea of Joy a 1000 times before I ever turned to these guys:

That was recorded more than a half century ago!

Not that there's no interesting thrash music, btw. This song, for example, played by the band that actually wrote it

At 3:52 when they go back to the verse riff and Skolnic keeps soloing, then it shows Chuck playing the air guitar, thats the hardest s-t I've seen in a minute

The little bass line at 0:44.

So I am a musician, so I figured I could post a song from my album and hopefully you'll listen to some more.

I do indie rock, folk and country. This one is jazzy one with an animated video.
Hope you enjoy, I actually think this is the right crowd for this :)

Think I'll start a blog of some sort documenting all the little things I love about thrash. Not most fellas cup of tea.

In the mean time.
Love the way Gary Holt can just make noises I dont expect. Like when he makes this UFO sound Wah Wah Wah Wah 3:31 to 3:37. I just love that.

Anyone know who stole this opening bass line? (Without googling)-- You've probably heard it a thousand times....

Thank you :) this specific trumpet player is called Avishai Cohen and is considered one of the best in the world. I met him in India and show him at the blue note in NYC 15 years ago haha...

Had a great time again Monday at the ANA Stage during the Cherry Blossom Fest.
(we played this gig last year too)

They've already asked us back for next year.
