Here are your nominees from tonight's win against the Los Angeles Clippers....

Image
Antawn Jamison - 25pts (8-16) / 12rebs / 2ast / 38mins

Image
Caron Butler - 16pts (6-22) / 13rebs / 7asts / 3stls / 7to's / 40mins

Image
JaVale McGee - 18pts (8-15) / 9rebs / 1ast / 1stl / 1blk / 24mins

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Rules

Here's the deal - after each win, we'll have a player of the game thread. You post the top 3 performers (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place). The top-3 vote-getters will receive points...

1st place = 3pts
2nd place = 2pts
3rd place = 1pt

At the end of the season, I'll tally up the point totals and put it into a thread. We should have a good idea of who was the most valuable player, at least according to Wizards fans. :D

The poll winner is for posterity only. It has no affect on the recorded winner. If you want your vote to count, post the top-3 performers.

CB and his 7 TOs certainly doesn't fit into my top 3.

My choices:
- McGee
- N1
- AJ

1. JaVale McGee - Rebounded well. Scored efficiently. Defended well...and in limited minutes.
2. Antawn Jamison - Another strong effort.
3. Nick Young - Strong night. He was ridiculously efficient and didn't force anything (IMO).

McGee - I'm positive he registered more than 1 blk.

He certainly altered several. Isn't it amazing how a team's interior defense is improved with an athletic 7 footer in the middle? What a concept.

1. Javale McGee - 18/9 in 24 minutes. Very nice.
2. Jamison - Another day at the office: 25/12.
3. Young - 22 points in 23 minutes is ridiculous, but I can't get past the 1 board and 0 assists.

JaVale, definitely. He was altering shots all over the place. The Clippers announcing team was very impressed with him..

What's sad is that they didn't even know who he was.

Thanks, Tapscott.

why would they care about a player with a superslow first step and poor lateral acceleration?

How silly we were to pass up DeAndre Jordan and his supersonic stride for this stiff?

Anyway:
1. McGee
2. Young (even if he's scoring well he still needs a note from his parents to be excused from rebounding Jwiz)
3. Jamison

Wow, sounds like a game I should have watched. Oh well, voted for McGee based on the stats.

3) AJ

Easiest top 3 of the season to pick IMO.

1.McGee-Kids going to be so legit once he gains some pounds, thank the lord.
2.Young- Good to see the kid get off the snide, when he's get it going he's just money, even on tough jumpers.
3.Jamison-Solid double-double, good shooting night, although I wish he'd just abandon the jumper except when wide open. If he just stuck with his post game his fg% would probably be around 50%.

AJ- Very consistent and added another double double
MCGEE-In 24 almost had a double double
NY- 22 pts in 23 mins says it all ( he didn't have much else to show lol)

McGee
Critt
AJ

Not going to put AJ higher because he played 39 minutes. Young shot 8/11 and all but had like one rebound and no assists and two turnovers. I mean he had a good vinnie the microwave game but not enough to deserve some sort of frickin award.

I am very impressed with the progress Crittendon has made. Too bad he can't shoot.
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

very disappointed that we decreased our chances to get Griffin, it looks like we are going to have play James, dixon, stevenson and songalia more minutes so that Javaris and Javale and N1 don't blow it for us to get our only chance at a strong post player on the cheap with out salary structure and become a dynasty. This is probably our only chance in the next 10 years to get our post player of the future and these three are screwing us.

Me thinks the board has some homievission working.

As exciting as it was to see McGee do well, AJ was the MVP this game. 8-16 2-3 7-9fts, 12 boards, no fouls, no turnovers, 2 assists, 2 steals, 7-9 Fts. After that I could go either way with NY or McGoo. NY did a ton to save processions putting efficient while McGoo was skying for rebounds and had some nice put backs.

The good new about McGee is that he did as well as he did and he is still mostly clueless about how to play a pro game and has no go to move. Give him a year behind Haywood next year and by year 3 we are going to have something really nice. We are going to have a serious quality problem with Haywood and McGee at the center position. The really interesting prospect will be see how well McGee can play at PF so we can have this both on the floor. He already has shown he has some range. Phil echoed my sentiment last night, he needs to slow down some and develop a go to move.

1) AJ
2) NY 8-11 FG 5-6 FTs 1-2 3Pts in 23 mins. That's efficient.
3) McGee

CB could have had a really nice game with out so many turnover and shot attempts. 6-22 and 7 TOs kind of over shadowed the 7 - 6 = 13 boards and 7 assists. Some of TOs are coming because he is trying to assist a lot which is a good thing. Not sure how he got 22 shots up with so many assists.

1. Jamison- Played like a leader
2. McGee- Can he start yet?
3. NY- Out of his near-year long slump?
