I wonder how much it's gonna cost to retain McGuire when he's a free agent in 2010. It'll be real interesting to see who gets the job as the fifth starter next year: Stevenson, DMac, Blatche or our lotto pick.

Great game. Amazing secondary scoring, no real breakdowns by the young guys and AJ had a textbook AJ-allstar game. And in front of the President to boot!

Wiz held the Bulls to .395 shooting and outrebounded them 53-37.
Bye bye Beal.

Honestly, that looked like a different team out there.

Was that the Wizards?

Nobody had a bad game out there. I even saw Pecherov sky for a rebound. Another time he pumped faked his player out and go inside for a surer two. OMG.

What a game that was.
Bye bye Beal.

We are going to be a damn good team next year. Depending on what we do with the draft pick, we could be a great team next year. The press doesn't know about Crit, Dom, Blatche and McGee. They will soon enough. It's very different playing a game where you know the goal is to tank, and a season where you know the goal is to fight.

I really did think Tap was going to pull McGee when Vinny put Aaron Grey in the game.

I was nervous....as I'm SURE McGee was as well.

just back from the game

(with all due respect to Dat) there was a guy behind us that started talking smack
about AJ saying he was over-rated and such. Well, I understand he's a flawed player
and all that, but I seriously enjoyed chanting over-rated the rest of the game after
every AJ score. Nice. AJ was fired up as evidenced by the rare dunk.

DMac was the other difference maker for us though. Really nice effort out there.
Shut down Gordon, then when Salmons was going off on us, took over d'ing up him,
shutting him down which put away the game for us.

truth be told, I'm not sure our D was really that good. CHI just wasn't
clicking offensively. I'll give our guys some credit for that but you know
what I'm saying.

that said, there was one play DMac made where I thought for sure he
had given Gordon an open 3. But he came from way off him and blocked
it. Very impressive.

And DMac is sticking his jump shots pretty consistently. You have to
guard him. One last point on DMac, a lot of times he is initiating
the offense. Not bad for a 2nd year, 2nd rnd SF.

And don't go to sleep on Critt either. I think he's in the equation but it's probably
between the first 2 on your list. Unless DeShawn is still hurt.

plus those guys will be in lessor roles to which they are more suited.

We should have a pretty deep team, barring yet another year of injuries.
As long as it's not either Gil or Haywood, we should be OK. I think we've
seen enough this year to know those guys are exceedingly important to
our success.

I haven't seen that kind of energy from our team in a long time, well all year.

Damn am I glad I recorded this game. Just got finished watching it and the only thing I can think is "where the hell did that one come from"?

Effort, energy, hustle and execution on both ends of the floor, it's like a bizarro version of this years Washington Wizards.

McGuire continues to impress, Blatche played under control and remained patient and even Young did a great job playing within the offense and sharing the ball.

Impressive effort and nice win.

Washington played hard and smart on defense. The hustle was there, they didn't have many breakdowns on rotations and generally did a good job staying in front of their men and boxing out for rebounds.

Very impressive, espescially since they managed to sustain the effort for the entire game, not just in spurts like they usually do.

If we play like this every night, our pick will come at the end of the lottery and might not have enough value to even move one of our contracts, let alone improve the team much.

Kidding, Donk.

That game thread was hilarious. Still makes me chuckle to this day.

Nick Young like DS keeps trying different hair styles in hopes of starting something new.

This last move is the most dramatic. I like it. No more cute pretty boy Nick.

For those who pick up on this kind of thing, this is a good sign. Ends up he played a solid game. He still needs a grab a few more boards on a regular basis but I'll take what he gave last night if he can do it night in and night out. I want him to get better at the spot up jumper though. It's great that he has one-on-one moves but he doesn't need to use them all the time. Goal #1 for Nick is to become more efficient. Tapps have been trying to pound that into his head for a while. It's a new rhythm he needs to learn. Nick's current timing involves him pounding the ball to much which kills the ball movement and mismatches that get created with ball rotation.

He needs to grab it and do something. Shoot, drive, drive and dish and pass it around the horn.
