This thread I started back when I was married, had custody of my kids, and would frequently take them to movies. I used to see all kinds of movies at theaters.

Then came long divorce experience. Legal fees.

Then came crime accusation (false, but I still had criminal, civil, and family court dates). Costly.

I went down to nothing financially, almost. No cable for almost two years. Six weeks no power. The only movies I would see were library DVDs...

Here's the good news:

God. :)

I'm now a background actor! I've been in a couple major motion pictures. Was on Hawaii 5-O as a driver extra (my car was featured). God gifted me with the ability to dance. Even did that in the background on a show featured on Comedy Central.

So, I have to say "God is good all the time!"

We go through a lot of ups and downs in life but just hang in there. :)

I'm thinking about participating in local theater here in Hawaii so that I can get some speaking parts and get better at my acting.

Happy for U mate! :)
It is really true that U can always change your life and it is never too late for doing it.

Something that I couldn't do in the past...

I am way late, but I finally saw Wonder woman this week. Wow, talk about DC saver, now I kinda want to see Justice league, just because of this character. Gal Gadot man, she is so good, nailed it. You just felt that genuine desire to help everyone she mets, she is so good. Complete opposite of Hanry Cavill who is just so awful (tho script doesnt do him favors as well). But man, in Superman, when hundreds of people die, Cavill either has no reaction or his reaction is - oh, that sucks I guess... In wonder woman, every time she meets a wounded soldier or people decimated by war, you feel she is devastated, like she would go all in to help these people. Gadot gave it all, could praise her enough. Very good chemistry with Kirk as well, and still lots of girls in my theater which is awesome to see. Every girl lost it when Chris Pine said ''above average''.

Wonder Woman exceeded my expectations, excellent entertainment....every guy falls in-love with Gal Godot, what a package.

Agreed. I saw Wonder Woman yesterday.

Well made movie. Lead actress stirred every emotion. Sexy. Sweet. Strong. Sensitive. Very good, dry humor. Very convincing fight scenes--not just CGI. Last, what a voice with that accent! She's awesome.

I believe Gadot deserves an Academy Award for her portrayal.

Gal Gadot reminds me of Claire Forlani. Both are beautiful

Blade Runner 2049 is a remarkable achievement, it's a sequel on-par with original. If you enjoy cerebral Sci-fi, you will enjoy it, but it is very slow.

I saw it two times and I am really impressed. Such a good sequel!
What is refreshing there are not many special effects, fight or chasing etc! and still You will sit and watching almost 3 hour enjoying great script, characters and music. Yes music, sound effects create a dark mood.
My favourite parts are fighting scene between Ford and Gossling in bar? where You can hear and see Elvis singing (hologram) - those interruptions when You can hear a song and cracks when it stops man it is awesome!!!

And the scene when Gossling is fighting with women who kidnapped Ford. Finally they proved that is still possible to make a interesting fight without cutting every damn move and You don't feel dizzy after that.

I almost forgot Rachel. Yes it is digital version of Sean Young but still remarkable work and it bring back good memories from original Blad Runner.

I recommended this movie for all who likes Cyberpunk mood who read Gibson books as me and are huge fans of first Blade Runner.

Blade Runner 2049 is going to be a big Oscar contender. I want to see it a 2nd time before it leaves, it isn't doing well at the Box Office.

I hoped this movie earns more money and I hoped he wins as much oscars as possible. Definatelly worth to see it more than once :)

The whole soundtrack is so totally different from original Vangelis masterpiece but also unique and good.

This song you can hear each day in my home ;)

Should I watch the original before seeing it?

It really depends. If you're looking for light entertainment, fast action, and interesting characters, don't watch. But if you're a big sci fi fan who appreciates the special effects and visuals of the era, it's for you.

Wolf of Wall Street
Goodfellas
Pulp Fiction
First Blood (the original Rambo movie)
Child's Play (the original Chucky movie)

All these have been on this weekend and I've seen them for free. The first four are some of the best movies ever made.

The best epic movies...

I took a sick day on Thursday to make sure I saw it a 2nd time before it left theaters on Friday, you pick-up on details you missed the first time the 2nd time around. Looking forward to geeking-out on the DVD extras when that comes out.
