Koken was one of the biggest Wizard haters on that station! Yes Al, B-Mitch, John Thompson, Andy Pollin(Abe’s cousin) and Steve Czaban all hate the Wiz for there own personal reasons. It’s just one factually wrong, negative, sarcastic statement after the other on an on an on! They have no respect for Wizard fans that have to listen to them because the games are aired on there station. Some of the things they say to and about Wizard fans THEY- WOULD- NEVER say to Redskin or Cap fans (I root against everything they support because of there totally negativity toward my Wiz). It’s one thing to crush teams whose broadcast you don’t air. It is quite another thing to disrespect fans who games you broadcast! I’m glad he is gone and hope they get rid of B-Mich and John Thompson next!!!!!
Signed; Couldn't stand him and glad he is gone!

^^^
Andy Pollin, Czaban, B-Mitch, Koken and honestly John Thompson don't know much about the NBA. For years various of these guys would bitch about Haywood like the simple solution was to get rid of him and go to the young Shaq tree and harvest a dominating center.

WTEM has never been that listenable to me for many of
the reasons stated above.
I never had anything against Koken. I think I met him
once somewhere very briefly. I might have jokingly
called him Tokin' Al Koken.
Koken was decent when he did Wiz games a few years back.
No worse than any of the guys they've had since.
Still this is nothing like Asbestalos firing Jon Miller.
That's basically when I stopped following the O's
after 30 years of being a rock solid fan. Miller
was worth listening to even in the depths of the O's
worst season.

Miller was the best radio broadcaster I've heard in any sport - by a wide margin... and I was a fan of Chuck Thompson, Marv Albert, and Jack Buck.

yup
Miller is still the best
most knowledgable
most entertaining
Great voice on the ears
what ever made asbestolos think letting him go was a good idea
is beyond me.

I’m a Wizard fan, not a Caps, Nats, Terps, Hoyas fan. I really have no interest in what other sports or teams he had knowledge of. All I care about is the depth of knowledge and fair, honest opinion he brought to table based off of facts when it came to the Wizards. I lost count of how many times he and the other Wizard hating crew voiced opinions about games they didn’t watch! Save all the sarcastic, negative, erroneous Wizard hating opinion for when you are off air hanging out with your boy John Thompson and Mr. Burgundy and Gold Doc (everything equates to football) Walker!
Really wish Uncle Abe would take his raido contract to another station that would respect and support the fan base!
