Why is Nick Young not playing?

Post#1 » by imagge » Sat Nov 21, 2009 5:27 pm

Life time Bulls fan here and causual Wizards fan (lived in DC for 12 yrs). Why is Nick not getting any tick? I believe he would be good next to Rose for an atheltic back court.

Coaching staff doesn't have any confidence in his abilities and at this point, I don't think he has any confidence in himself...

Mike James + Young + Dominic Maguire for Salmons + Johnson

He's not a veteran.

If Young were a veteran, he'd have been given benefit of a doubt and much minutes--enough to play his way out of his shooting slump.

You can't say he's not playing just because he sucks. Others are playing through sucking.
Bye bye Beal.

Nick Young isn't the brightest bulb on the tree. It's taking him a long time to learn the offensive and defensive system. Because of his slow start, he has found himself behind Foye and Miller in the rotation. Stevenson also gets minutes ahead of him because Stevenson has a skill that nobody else on the team has - the ability to defend guys out on the perimeter.

Foye has been playing just as bad as Young was earlier in the season. I know Foye's minutes have been scaled back, but Flip is still giving him burn. I think they should try and dip into the N1 well a little more frequently, but whatever, they'll suck with him or without him.

My honest opinion, Nick Young is a guy who is going to blossom and contribute for another team.

Nick's got to get some PT - if for no other reason than to raise his trade value.
