Yeah I think one hour prior to draft time would be good. It starts at 7PM, so why don't we say 6PM Eastern deadline for submitting.

Can we edit our picks also up to the 6PM deadline?

Actually you bring up a good point with editing. Since we can't see anymore when people edited their posts, I propose that we each post one entry with no edits. Once the post is made in this thread, I will quote the post, so we know what the picks were originally in case someone were to try and change them. For my picks, I would appreciate if someone else can quote that to make sure we can all trust that our picks are made prior to the draft.

Anyone have issues with that?

We could just set the deadline to 6pm the day of or when ever and at that time quote what ever picks are here that way people can edit their picks up until the lock time.

Bump - Since we can edit our picks, there's no need to wait to make your picks and get them ridiculed.

Alpha Kaba? Sounds more like a fraternity than the Hawks pick.

1. Play just the first round to keep it simple

2. Scoring:
a. Formula: (31-Pick Number) * Number of spots difference between the player you picked and where he ended up getting picked
b. Interpretation: Higher scoring is worse and the top picks are weighed more than the picks at the bottom of the draft.
Nothing too fancy, but I think that should be fair.

Other considerations include:
People who submit later have an advantage. Why? Because they have the advantage of potentially more information about team's preferences or rumored deals as well as the advantage of viewing other competitors picks which can influence them to make strategic decisions. My thought is that there is no major money at stake and I don't see any big deal in advantages being granted to those who have appreciation for good timing.

Any major issues with any of the above - let me know.

I'd say just the opposite - the lower the pick, the greater the difficulty, the more points.

Pick # = points.

yea i agree
the later picks should be the most difficulty
earlier picks have a much greater chance of being correct

also how about predicting a trade?
