Cody Williams at #2 is brutal.

Being benched during HS all-star games seems like a really bad sign.

We shall see. It's still very early. But, I really love his upside in a draft that doesn't have much of it near the top.

Not criticizing you, just criticizing the class that I can't find guys I would definitely put top 3 so we can even discuss Cody Williams being top 3 right now. Just so few guys with both upside and production.

Agreed. Early on this does not look like a promising class at all.

Baba Miller seems like a conceptual player. He would have to be world's better as a sophomore to be a first rounder IMO. Other than that, no issues so far. Seems like a draft with a lot of big people.

The NCAA did him no favors forcing him to sit most of his freshman year. I don't disagree with you, but he just looked very good at the under 19's. So there is reason for optimism here.

I like how high you have Okpara. Think he could certainly develop into a Nerlens Noel / Okongwu type of guy.

8.9% blocks rate as a 6'11" freshman in the Big10 is nothing to sneeze at. And he's young for his class - doesn't turn 20 till next April.

I know it's hard to get your shots off in a rhythm playing for the Ignite, but Thierry Darlan's shooting. OUCH

Yeah, it's not been pretty so far. But he has a reputation as a shooter, so hopefully this is a small sample size issue that can get corrected.

Out of curiosity b/c I've found him to be unimpressive in what little I've seen of him, what is it about Ryan Dunn you like, and do you see anyone comparable in the NBA?

Not Cammo, but Dunn is Aaron Gordon with no offensive skill whatsoever.

This, of course, is not a valuable player in the slightest in the NBA, but the hope is he can pull off a miracle and get up to 37% from three.

I am, uhhhhhhhhhhh, getting extremely doubtful that he can pull off this miracle.

The total fear he has shooting makes me think he's got no shot at all in the NBA. He's not good enough to be the designated role man on offense so he'll just ruin your team's offense.

The flowchart for NBA players goes

1. Can you shoot? If no, go to 2.
2. Are you so incredibly elite at scoring that you don't need to shoot to score and can therefore demand the ball all the time? If no, go to 3.
3. Are you a huge (or ridiculously athletic) big man who attracts tons of gravity on rolls to the basket? If no, go to 4.
4. Are you a center who is at least competent in pick-and-roll offense who is a dominant defensive player? If no, you suck and aren't valuable in the NBA.

And I think people try to avoid thinking this way because it's really boring for projecting NBA players, but it's also true...

The Rockets and Pistons drafting the Thompson twins seemingly without a plan to build the entire team around them as pick-and-roll finishers was... weird. Scouts feel very out-dated with their thinking. I don't think prime Ben Simmons would be a valuable player in 2024 with how much shooting is needed.

Yup. Offenses tank when they don't have 4+ shooters on the court.

The best teams that don't have 4 shoots have a reason. Timberwolves have Gobert. Denver has Jokic with AG or Preston. Milwaukee has Giannis.

Boston, OKC and Philly basically have 5 shooters for most of the game.

Big time athlete who already defends at an NBA level. His offense is still very raw, right now he's pretty much just a lob threat dunker. The hope is that his offense can come along to at least an adequate 3 and D level, but right now that is just projection. I'd say I project him higher than I actually like him right now on my big board, but in a wide open weak draft like this, I can see why teams would roll the dice on him.
