Them's the breaks. Just tough it out with Love.

Made some horrific draft choices and ended up hurting myself out the gates. (Bynum in the first round. :nonono:) Despite it, I've managed to keep a playoff spot in the East where all the toughest teams are. My free agency pickups have been keeping me alive so far but I'm not sure how much longer I can compete.

my first year was terrible too

The biggest problem isn't the early picks -- those are easy to learn. It's that you had no idea how to target sleepers. Your bench is oh so bad. Sanders is carrying you.

eh. Been saying Wall sucks since he came into the League, so I'm not forgiving that pick. Thornton proved last year he was a faker and can't really shoot 41% from 3s. Why'd you fall for it again? Hickson and Lopez is saving your bacon. Favors has decent hype value so shop him; you have one too many redundant bigs. Green can go. Wall can go.

Ilyasova has been up and down but there's a lot of trade rumors around him and if he ends up leaving after jan 15 to brooklyn, raptors or wherever and can get around 30+mins per night he can easily achieve last years scoring and rebounding.
Also around a week ago i did a trade and recieved Gasol/Jennings for Harden/Glen Davis

Awful deal. Harden alone is worth those two. Never liked Jennings. High volume FG% shooters are impossible to trade and rape the balance of your squad. Good idea (trading wing depth for pg), awful execution (you sold high on the wrong dude and didn't get enough to boot).

Good wings. Think about selling high on George (very, very high) and improving your flawed PGs and/or getting another elite big. Drop Rip.

Cheers, will ride it out as there aren't many takers.

How about this dynasty league I'm in:
FG% FT% 3PM PTS REB AS ST BLK TO 12 Teams

PG J. Teague
SG K. Thompson
G K. Walker
SF T. Young
PF L. Sanders
F P. George
C G. Monroe
UT K. Lowry
BN H. Barnes
BN B. Beal
BN N. Pekovic
BN J. Valanciunas
BN N. Vucevic
BN J. Wall

Finished 3rd las year and was unlucky to lose in the Semi Finals to an absurdly good team. Sitting 4th atm.
When I picked it up it a few years ago it was a mess. Have tried to go young and build the team from there. Just traded P. Gasol for Lowry before he got injured. What type of moves should I look at? I feel that Wall is expendable, but what should I look for, because he could explode in a few years?

Inconsistent PGs. Great deal in a dynasty league w/ Pau for Lowry. Wall sucks but everyone sucks his dick, so wait for him to blow up and sell high. Be patient; it may take a year, but it will happen. Guaranteed.

Smart owner. Barnes sucks, so sell him at the first opportunity. Beal sucks too, but you may need a wait a year to sell him off. Don't wait too long or the hype will fall off. Hopefully wall comes back and makes beal look better than he is. Plus I might be wrong about beal. So be patient there. Just saying that so you don't consider him an untouchable.

Your team is pretty sick in a dynasty. sanders, george? jeez. Kemba? Teague? Super solid. Stand pat, keep finding value wherever it lies. You have a v flexible roster. Sell Thad young high.

I have just traded Korver + Meeks for Tony Park.

Was that a wise move? (I lead in 3P). Now I am looking for a big with godd fg and not bad FT%, do you have any idea of a really deep sleeper? (20 team league, so guys like amir johnson for example were taken).

Hi Apathy, much appreciated for the help.

You told me to package Jack/Stuckey for a better 1, and I'm wondering who to target? Most people know these guys are fringe guys on a hot streak, so it's tough to get an upper tier 1.

Stuckey's been decent recently so you can hold onto him for 2-4 more weeks and if he maintains it ship him off.

I'd package Deng (really getting banged up; a lot of minutes on his legs these past 5 years) and Jack. Dragic and Jack. MWP and Jack. AK and Jack. Lopez and Jack. You got a lot of options.

Solid team. No obvious players to trade or acquire. Basic fantasy advice applies: Put out feelers to everyone and search for value. Buy low, sell high. Initiate 2-for-1s. Hold on Dragic, he'll be fine. Collison's drop bait if anyone good is on your wire. I'd actually use the Collison spot to stream daily.

Underrated trade targets:

Pierce (every single year this dude is underrated)
Batum (9th overall right now)
David Lee (13th)
Lowry (injury concerns, coming off the bench, but he's 22nd per game)
Conley (20th per game)
Kidd (35th)
Kawhi (36th)
Thad Young (42nd)
Teague (45th)
Lin (48th)
Robin Lopez (58th)
Mo Williams (64th, hurt)
Millsap (70th; I think he improves)
Shawn Marion (80th)
Gasol (90th, think he improves)
Klay Thompson (27th in past month)
Ginobili (43rd past month)
Gallo (60th past month)
Vucevic (63rd past month)
Wallace (67th past month -- risky, but if Carlesimo is smart he'll realize Wallace at PF, Brooks at SG is the best lineup)

You have Durant. Build around that. Obviously you need to trade away a PG or two. Unfortunately, Irving is quite valuable in 8-cat leagues (15th). Irving/X for Batum/X, although with Durant you don't need another SF-only player. Irving/X for George/X. Irving for Curry straight up, assuming Curry is SG eligible. Maybe explore Irving/Harden deals. Noah, LA, Griffin, Smith, Gasol, Ibaka, AlJeff.

Your PGs are fine w/o Irving, and Irving has the most trade value on your team outside of Durant, who should obv be considered untouchable. Irving/Lopez for X/X. Irving, Williams, Lopez are really the only dudes you can afford to trade. Jordan is slumping, Pek isn't a name, Conley/Dragic are underrated and more valuable on your team than away from it, Sanders should be considered untouchable, Matthews is hurt and essential to your squad anyway, Collison's value is suppressed, Thompson has mediocre trade value.

I'd target Kidd. Kidd/Al Jeff would be perfect if the same dude has 'em. If you have a deal with Irving and Kidd, you're obv gonna need scoring back. Kidd's owner may not realize how valuable he is, but since Felton's out now's not the greatest time to trade for him. Still, w/o Felton around Kidd is a 1st-rounder.

As long as you make the playoffs you're fine. Evans and 3s are your problem. Trade Iggy cuz you have assists on lock. You need 3s 3s 3s. Iggy for Klay straight up.

Thanks!! You are correct, threes are an issue; I sometimes win 3s by a small margin. Should I try to move Evans as well? I traded monta for Evans earlier because he was killing my fg % and turnovers.

It's my first time playing Fantasy, and I think I made a few terrible decisions during the draft (drafted Manu instead of Parker when I had the choice), but have been able to improve my team with FAs in an apathetic league to climb to 5th after starting last in the first 3 weeks.

Yahoo H2H 10-category 10 teams

James harden
Josh Smith
Steve Nash
Anderson Varejao
Brook Lopez
Danilo Gallinari
George Hill
Amar'e Stoudemire
Nene Hilario
Manu Ginobili
Larry Sanders
Jeremy Lin
Jamal Crawford

I was thinking of dropping Nene for Kawhi Leonard? and Perhaps Jamal Crawford for Jarrett Jack?

The problem is that I'm not quite sure what I need. In the same categories, I get crushed on some weeks, and destroy players on other weeks. Any advice would be much appreciated!

You gotta let Evans get healthy first.

Ellis for Monta = lateral move. Both fantasy cancers. I'd slightly prefer Ellis, since there's more structure in MIL than SAC.

Crawford won't trade? Everyone overrates PPG.

Nene's starting to ball. Kawhi for Amare. Why in the world do you still have Amare?

Your team's a contender. You weren't kidding when you said your league's apathetic. Nash will help a lot, but you could use a better 2nd PG than Hill. You also don't have any obvious trade packages. That's the bigger problem.

If you can't pull off a decent 2-for-1, just start streaming Crawford's spots, Nene's spots. If there's that much talent on the wire, why not? In the meantime keep working a 2-for-1. Even a slight upgrade -- like two top 50 players for one top 35-40 player -- is a win since there's so much talent on the wire.

Thanks!

I picked up Amare about two weeks ago when I heard that he might be back for christmas. Reports confirm that he's probably going to suit up on the first game of the new year, sometime next week at the very least.

Why do you think I should drop Amare and not Nene? I feel like Amare will do everything Nene does but better? more rebounds/points/blocks/higher FT%~

The FA pool is actually not that deep~ I think the only viable players available are Jarrett Jack, Matt Barnes, Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Korver, Shawn Marion, Derrick Rose, Danny Granger, Andrew Bynum, and Glen Davis (out).

I think Amare's days of being fantasy relevant are done. Maybe I'm wrong, though; his #s last year were better than I thought. He's obviously in decline, though, is coming off injury, and the Knicks no longer run -- they're t-22nd in pace compared to 5th last season.

And he's coming off the bench. Remains to be seen how many minutes he gets. Maybe 28 per game?

Nene's put up 14/7 with great percentages in just 23 minutes in December. His minutes should gradually come up to around 30 per game. He's always been able to contribute in a low amount of minutes, too -- for his career he averages 29 per.

In the end I suppose they're about the same. I just think Nene has more upside.

You need to pick Leonard up asap. He's posting t40 value, man. He's better than half your team.
