ChrispShots wrote:Quick question, what do the terms like "H2H" or "ROTO" mean? First time fantasy and don't even know how people got their rosters. Did you guys just copy paste from a page? The Yahoo one is confusing.
expanding on jeffc's answer:
strategic differences:
H2H: present production is more important than future production. your whole roster must be productive. you can mitigate this by streaming (picking up a dude for a monday game, monday comes along, drop him for a dude on tuesdaym etc.). you can punt categories (plan to lose them week in and week out) and not suck.
roto: you have 82 games. use them wisely. use them on elite production. i dont mind injury risks (as much) if they provide elite production. no category killers. not even negotiable. upside is emphasized.
your team:
kobe worst pick ever. i usually say you can't win your league with your 1st or 2nd pick but you can lose it. you just ensured you won't win it.
rest of your team isn't bad. drop prince/hill.

G- Derrick Rose
SG- Ray Allen
SF- Carmelo Anthony
PF- DeMarcus Cousins
C- Roy Hibbert
BN- Steve Nash
BN- Tony Parker
BN- Luis Scola
UTIL- Emeka Okafor
UTIL- Michael Beasley
UTIL- Trevor Ariza
UTIL- Kris Humphries
cousins is terrible. maybe you got him late tho. in my last draft (last night) he went like 100th. in a league full of kings homers. that's reeeally late. but he might not even live up to that. terrible in TO leagues.
aside from that your starters are good. you run into problems with your bench. ariza, beasley are bleh. curious to see if okafor gets his normal minutes. in general your big men are terrible. you needed to take a horford or LA over anthony with your 2nd pick.

thank the broken snake league format cuz if boozer stays healthy you prob win your league
nene was a reach due to the same format. not technically a reach cuz i have him ranked 29th in TO leagues. but he usually goes later. whatever. granger usually goes earlier. good picks unless bosh/lopez/david lee were on board.
you start effing up in r6. butler is ass. stuckey's aite. it's deep, you can live with his FG and he has upside. rip, wes johnson = worthless. kaman's good value i suppose. just risky. i'd grab mehmet okur off WW if he's still available. sit on him cuz if he's healthy he'll get traded. cheap 3s yo.

i'll do more later. so many friggin teams to rate
