Breaking the glass ceiling

Post#1 » by espismark » Sat Jan 19, 2013 3:11 am

I'm currently last in FG% and PTS. With that being said, will these trades help me break the glass ceiling?

Note: Only the first trade proposition has been discussed with the gm

My team:
PG: Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry, Jason Kidd
SG:JJ Reddick, Jose Calderon, Paul George
SF: Jared Dudley, MWP
PF: Paul Millsap, Joakiam Noah, Kenneth Faried
C: Roy Hibbert, Larry Sanders
8 teams, 9 cat roto

1. Paul George + Kenneth Faried for Kobe (Possibility of getting Jared Sullinger or Nene if this is accepted)
- I was able to make a thread about this a few days back, and I heard positive comments so will push through with this

2. Joakim Noah for Tim Duncan
- This proposal has a high chance of being rejected, but will still give it a shot. Duncan has phenomenal shot blocking and FG%

3. Someone proposed Joe Johnson + Chandler Parsons for Paul George
- Nowhere close of being accepted

4. Paul George for Melo
- Trying hard to get a legit scorer

5. Roy Hibbert + Jose Calderon for Al Jefferson

6. Paul George + Noah for Kobe/Melo + DMC/Brook Lopez/ David Lee

Can melo put up the same numbers as kobe ? They're both prolific scorers and melo in my opinion can cost less than kobe.

Doubt you'll find a better deal for Melo than the one you have for Kobe.

Point well taken. Another question is should I stash Varejao this early ? I mean some of the other gm's have stashed players ex. are Danny Granger, Raymond Felton and Derrick Rose.

Just to clarify things, Kobe and Melo's owner is the same person, so maybe he will do Paul George for Melo ?

Frankly I'd be shopping Melo/Kobe as soon as I acquired them. I think both are due for significant regression. Kobe's name is more universal than Melo, though. I've seen some ABSURD trades involving Kobe throughout the ten years I've been involved in fantasy. And he hasn't had a year this big since...

Basically, with Kobe you can include him in a proposal for anyone and not get laughed out of the room (whether you should or not is another question). Melo? Can't say the same.

I love George and everything he's doing, but how could you not project him for decline when Granger's 18 shots return? Even if Granger only shoots 15 times, that's still a lot of touches, and more importantly, no one on the Pacers is an above-average passer, so it's not like George is well-suited to turn fewer opportunities into higher efficiency..

Yeah, Granger's return will have a great impact in George's stats.

So if I can get Kobe, should I try to trade him plus some other guys for KD/LBJ ? I'm 100% positive it's not gonna be cheap

KD, LBJ, Harden, Batum (I'd do Kobe for Batum straight up no problem), Westbrook, Jefferson (I'd do Kobe for AlJeff straight up, though you may be able to get more), Irving... pretty much anyone you can think of.

I'd give up Kobe + anyone on your team not named Chris Paul for KD or LBJ.

Thanks for the tips

Btw since Kobe's owner hasn't been that active for about 3 days, I've offered CP3 + Paul George for Durant and Jrue Holiday.

Should I replace Holiday with Rondo since he owns them both ?

Once Felton and Shumpert returns, Kidd's numbers will decrease slightly but will in turn make his FG% better IMO.

if he's smart no way he does this deal! put yourself in his shoes, what does he gain by giving up durant and holiday/rondo? holiday and rondo puttin up the same or higher assist numbers then CP3, durant miles ahead of george.

the only deal remotely accepted that you have proposed is number 1.

I'm just trying to see if he'll counter this proposal.
