Question about salary cap

Post#1 » by BRIGGS » Mon Dec 8, 2008 6:34 pm

If the NBA badly suffers in revenues the next 2-3 years--is there a set limit on how low the cap can go? Is there a restricted point on the cap? It would seem to me that the cap number is inevitably headed lower over the next two years.

I haven't looked this up to be sure, but given things like revenue adjustments based on previous seasons, I think it can actually be negative. :-)

Ha! That would be a funny headline:

"Lebron asked to pay $15M for right to play for Knicks"

For that to happen, the economy would have to be in a deep, deep depression. You'd be out of work, living in a tent and getting your meals on a bread line. You probably wouldn't be laughing then.

^^^How do you know that's not already the way my life is? That's terribly insensitive of you, Dunkenstein.

Is that the way your life presently is? Or are you just attempting to make me look insensitive?

The do have copmputers at public libraries. But if you are living in a tent and posting on this site, you may want to re-arrange your priorities.

That said, I know you were just joking.
