JW: Did the forums start in 2008?

When you go to the last page of most forums, they go to 2008 or forward, but that can't be right. Many users have been here since 2001 and people reference the forums from then. So did you guys delete your history in 2008 or something?

There have been several moves.

The forum goes back well beyond 2008.

I'm pretty sure the older threads are kept "in storage". I remember browsing RealGM a couple years back and being able to see threads from around 2002.

We have them in storage somewhere but need to do something to unearth them.

Not sure when we will get to this though.

Didn't you guys hide them to make RealGM more faster or less cluttered or something like that?

I actually think it would be a nice idea to have the super old threads visible to read as long as it doesn't negatively affect how the site runs. My main suggestion would be to make sure posters can't post in them anymore, otherwise we'd have a bunch of threads from 2002 constantly getting bumped.

I think we took them off because of space/search issues.

Hopefully, we can bring back the old threads back locked up in the future.
