PMing a Mod

Post#1 » by WesWesley » Thu Jul 10, 2008 9:47 pm

I went to FAQ and there was a section regarding not being able to PM.

It says to PM an administrator, but I can't do that either.

I'm currently in a ATL league on the PC board, and it would be helpful if I could PM mods.

Is this feature disabled for everyone? Or is there a restriction on my account?

it's unavailable currently unless you are a mod, global, commish, etc. to send PM's. I've heard they're working to correct that glitch. So, it's not just you.

From what I understand, at least a few of the mods aren't able to PM either. Not sure if it's working for anyone.

It's surprising to me that this hasn't been fixed by now.

I think I have found a solution to the PM problem. It requires us to modify the forum so we'll have to test it out before we install it. Once we are sure that it won't cause problems we'll get it going on the live board so that users will be able to send private messages again.

Why not just make things easier and let everyone pm everyone instead of making it hard on yourselves messing around with only being able to pm a moderator

I don't mean to sound impatient, but how does it take a month to test out the PM system?

Please fix this as soon as possible.

What is the status of this request?

Should we just assume PM's are a thing of the past?

I have gotten a few PM's from mods and I would like to be able to return their overtures.

Seriously, when is this going to be back?

It's been 3 months since the upgrade, and the PM system is still down. It really shouldn't take this long.

This is very inconvenient.

How many administrators does it take to change a light bulb?

Seriously let me know once there has been a documented case because I would like to know.

6 months since the upgrade, and still no PMing.

Fix it.

Mods can PM other posters (who aren't mods), but those posters cannot reply; which is why many of the boards have set up e-mail accounts so users can contact mods at their disposal.

It is being worked on, from what we've been told.....

It's a good stopgap, but not every board has one.

Also, sometimes I prefer to contact individual moderators on certain issues, and global mods and admins on certain issues as well.
