Talk about insecurity; are they actually keeping a naughty or not list? I wrote to the Yahoo email address and haven't got a response yet. Anyway, that's the kind of stuff that probably pisses people off. They do a great job with their actual responsibilities, now if they could just stop drawing attention to themselves by patronizing/being condescending to posters and calling them out publicly, everyone would be happy.

Which reminds me of the time when I commented how Jake Voskhul shoving Randolph was too much(he got injured). Yet that same mod riding the high of the new addition of Voskhul felt the need to belittle my post by posting a picture of tranny men in a girls dresses telling me to have a teaparty because I am a nancy. Uhhh????? :-?

and did you tag that post with a complaint, saying it was inappropriate or offensive?
if not, why bring it up now? what do you want me or another mod to do about it today?

you're veering off topic on this and are just complaining about a mod or mods.

the only thing I dislike is that I have seen some older posters get away with calling a group of people morons/idiots, not directly insulting them but just saying "you guys are morons/idiots" and continuing to write their thoughts, and nothing was done about it. Where as "younger" posters would get a freak out if that happened. Otherwise the mods are pretty good... except yesterday when i got a warning along with some other guy for saying 67 is old... That was a warning based on opinion and nothing on the rules but its all good in da hood. :meditate:

Really? Why does that deserve a warning - I don't get it.

you guys ain't getting it, it aint just about IBTL,

go and look at some of the other fourms and you won't even see
many threads locking or being moved

I just feel that we need a little more freedom on our board, I know Howard Mass
laid down the law, but I think the Raptors board is the only ones enforcing it

and yes I dont like being bashed or mocked when I offer my opinion or insight

a small example (It aint even that serious) I commented a thread and instead of replying
to my comment Yogi decides to correct my grammer, I mean common
I am 23, married with 3 children I don't feel I need to be insulted by someone on a basketball
fan fourm.

Oh well

listen, guys (and girls),
we know where you are coming from. we just ask that you understand where we are coming from.
rules don't please everyone, but i can comfortably say the rules that are in place are here to allow the board to be pleasurable, informative and entertaining for the majority of posters.

so we hear your feedback and i've re-explained why the ibtl rule is in effect. its the principle of what posters were doing and how it really wasn't contributing to the board nor entertaining any posters.

so let's leave it at that and move on and talk about ball-related topics.

I have used ibtl only few times, and only when the poster totally lost it with personal negative comments or posted porn. Otherwise, it shows a lack of originality. Remember, you don't have to comment in each and every thread.

Modding this board is a complicated process. There are a lot of very opinionated people that post here, and there a lot of people that honestly need moderation. On the other hand, I think the goal of any mod is to have the board police itself, where people know what is and isn't within the TOS, and what is and isn't appropriate. That, unfortunately, is not what I would consider to be the state of the board currently.

Many people mention that they would like this board to be like the Knicks board. In my opinion, how they moderate things is there business, but I personally would not like to see this board become like that. What I like about this board is that virtually all of the threads are about basketball, and about the Raptors. That's why I come here, so that I can read things that have to do with the Raptors, and discuss them with my peers. A lot of the time, disturbances, flame wars and things of that nature erupt, name calling and lots of juvenile behaviour rears it's ugly head. I think we can all agree that that sort of thing is disruptive and uneccissary, and damages the quality discussion that we have on this board. My goal, and the goal of the moderation staff is to allow this sort of discussion to take place, and to keep it fresh, interesting and free of distractions. I feel that for the most part we have been successful in doing this.

I will admit that sometimes there is a lot of mod presence on the board, where threads are locked and decisions are made that make some people on this board upset. Most of the time I would consider these decisions to be neccissary. To be honest, I am not bothered by IBTL personally. I don't think that it really matters, and it doesn't particularly annoy me.

I do see how it could be irritating to other people though, and why a rule would be created to enforce it.

Or post it 10 times in under 20 minutes, which is why I warned chaldean in the first place...he was literally following the guy from board-to-board so that he could spam every thread with it.

I don't post on too many forums but this place is pretty lax with all the "maytricks championship" and "Hedo only plays for the o's" threads compared to a place like niketalk (which is saying something...they had a 100 page thread on two guys who were supposed to meet up and fight in queens)

I thought the rule was kinda stupid but what's worse is how some people are acting about it...lol you'd think these people were losing their right to vote...realgm or any internet message board shouldnt be taken this seriously

If you look at what I said in the first post, I didnt mind you or anyone else locking a IBTL thread

I just ask to make this board a little more fun, as an example can we bring back the
funny picture thread without it getting moved, or somthing to that effect I just want everyone to chill out
take it easy and get along.

Sorry, just warned you in-thread...and it wasn't for posting IBTL specifically, it was because you were post-padding up a storm with it.
