Andrew Bynum Undergoes MRI On Swelling In Knees

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Mar 18, 2014 5:24 am

Andrew Bynum missed the Indiana Pacers' win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday after undergoing an MRI due to swelling in his knees.

The Pacers expect to know more about Bynum's status in the coming days.

"This is what we signed up for," Frank Vogel said. "We knew he was a great player with some problem-area knees, (who was) going to be in some times and out some times.

"We're fully aware of that and we'll be excited whenever we have him in uniform."

I think he is to blame. The second he leaves a good situation in LA (where he already had these similar problems) he completely falls off. shuts down for a whole year in philly, shutdown for most of his short stay in cleveland. He's not fully motivated or doing the right things.

I know many NBA players have vouched for him and said he has been rehabing and putting in the work, but I don't think he's going the extra mile.

Mostly Too fat... Mostly
On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."

Pacers knew exactly what kind of risk they were taking with this guy, as of now all fingers pointing to him riding the bench a deep playoff run. Luckily they have a strong C/PF line-up without him.

If he doesn't play any games before the playoffs start, not sure it would be a good idea to play him then either - needs to get in the groove with teammates, conditioning, etc.

Not all investments pay off but there is still some time left for him to make a small impact.

As long as teams are willing to deal with the high risk of Bynum on the roster, he will always have a job. Really makes me wonder how much longer he will last, and how much damage his knees have taken over his career... Long term it doesn't look too good.

Other than that, I want to petition that we change Andrew Bynum's photo back to his Philly days on the bench permed out. It's the epitome of his career lol

i agree. but if that is all the pacers are looking for, it seems there might be better players they could lure out of retirement than dealing with bynum.

Pacers already saw what he was capable of when he played a couple of games.

He played extended minutes the last game he played, probably wasn't the best thing for him.

They should seriously just let him take his time, and start of playoffs just use him for less than 10 minutes a game. If he holds up, then just use him as much as possible against the Heat even if it means he will break down after a couple of games.

Those couple of games with Bynum doing what he did already in small flashes could cause the Heat some problems.
