There's no way this scrub Tarik Black should be playing minutes over him right now.
He is undeniably raw but he possesses all of the physical tools necessary to become a contributor perhaps in the mold of Serge Ibaka (best case scenario) or hopefully even a young Samuel Dalembert
. The problem rests in that Darryl Morey assumed he would spend about 1-2 season overseas to refine his understanding of the game. Instead he opted to come to the NBA immediately and as such he was guaranteed a roster spot this year. If he was playing on a lottery bound team, he would get all the minutes he can handle.
Since he 's on a Rockets team that is currently eyeing a top 4 WC spot he needs to prove he can handle defensive rotations and become a maximum effort in limited minutes type player who also does not lose focus.
The Rockets own their D-league team so the can keep proper tabs on him while teaching him both the offensive/defensive philosophies of the senior team. They also need to figure out if his future is at PF or at C
