Introducing RealGM's Redesign

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Dec 22, 2014 4:15 pm

RealGM is excited to announce a redesign of our website and branding is now live.

Our website is now fully responsive, which gives users a consistent experience across desktop, tablet and mobile devices. We went page by page, from Trade Checker to our player profile pages, to be optimized for any type of device. The experience on a mobile device is far more intuitive and complete with our redesign.

With unique pages like Traded Future Picks, daily updated Depth Charts and the most complete player profile pages in the world of basketball, we worked hard to make the experience of navigating and discovering information much easier. The search functionality is greatly improved and page load times should be quicker for most pages.

We also worked with design firm Public-Library to update our branding. They created a custom typography and icon system that is an evolution of our diamond logo.

Another change is the typeface for article and news pages that is easier to read, regardless of device.

The forums will be released in the coming days, which will be more subtle than the rest of the site and focuses mainly on improving usability.

We encourage you to give us feedback on the overall redesign on this forum thread.

Finally, the below image shows the evolution of how RealGM has looked since its inception back in August of 2000.

What the :o
After Rose broke both his knees, I gave up on the hope that we'd make it to the NBA Finals again. It will probably be decades before we see another championship. Hello Treadmill, here we come.

It's the shoes!

You need to better integrate the ads, that's your revenue. The header ad looks really awkward.

Great job RealGM. I can't tell you how much I dislike the new format on NBA.com. Will go to this site for stats moving forward.

Just one thing, wish you'd put the player efficiency rating (at least per) with the main stats. I like that the majority of stats can be clearly read in one diagram though.

The person(s) who came up with the redesign deserves a raise indeed!

Get AdBlock... I didn't even know there were ads on RealGM.

The new RGM design is a complete ripoff of the Brooklyn Nets website! Thanks Drake!

I don't like it. You had a recognizable look and feel before. Now...

At least you didn't implement this in the middle of the playoffs or on draft day like you've dinewith some upgrades in the past

Ultimately I only care about the forums so please don't mess that up.

Is anyone else having problems with the forum pages? Everytime I click on a forum thread it keeps saying error. I have to repeatedly click it and try again and again to access the threads. Sometimes that doesn't even work.
