Monty Williams Building Strong Connection With Kevin Durant

Monty Williams has already made a strong connection with Kevin Durant in his first season as an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Williams has reportedly "penetrated Durant's circumspect veneer."
"When he talks to Monty," the person said, "he's like a little kid talking to his father. He stares at him, listens to every word he says."
Durant has also appeared to be engaged by Oklahoma City's new offense.
"New system, new coach," Durant said this week. "Feels like a new era of basketball."

IIRC KD said he was a bastard and that his father was never much involved in his life and his mom raised him and his brother alone.

Donnovan being that father figure in his life that he never had could be what ends up being the difference maker for him staying in OKC.

Imagine KD + AD GOD DAMN. I'd Rather see him go to the east though and play with John Wall and the Wiz. Lebron+Kyrie VS KD+wall easternconfrence finals is one I'd watch every year. Even has a better chance in the east and could make the weak east look stronger.

I don't know what exactly a "circumspect venner" is but if one person is penetrating it, I think somebody should be wearing protection.

looks like we're all picking up on the same thing wtf is "circumspect veneer"? is he saying kd had been reticent the whole time he played for brooks, who he practically grew up with in the nba. are they calling kd's SHY nature circumspect. is donovan, who's had great rapport with his players, concomitantly NOT connecting with kd. is stephenA turning kd into howard hughs?
