This is a business... and it's bad business to take on his albatross $25 mil contract (honestly, the most overpaid in the league bar none) for an aging dude that everyone hates anyway. Kobe wont be the draw that you think he would for another team. He is broken down, not the same player anymore. Most of the teams he would get traded to would hate him. Rudy Tomjonavich who still works for the Lakers? Mike Brown who's opinion matters to absolutely no one in the NBA? Mike D'Antoni who has known Kobe since he was a baby and was great friends with his dad in Italy? ESPN is a Joke, they are the TMZ of sports media. The problem with 24 hour news cycle is you have to create stories, so they sensationalize and keep up bs and it just loses credibility. I think the more people read it the more people realize the espn folks and bayless/steven a smith aren't "expert analyst" they are just like us, hoop junkies who want something to talk about and we all love the entertainment so here we are clicking on it, but do they and should they have any reputable platform? no... even thrankings are arbitrary but it is offseason so they need a headline and they choose someone who is obviously has quite a strong following in kobe just as they released a headline yesterday talking about how no one would take kobe because he burned his bridges when he has already spelled it out for everyone that he bleeds lakers purple/gold and isn't going anywhere. they just need a story
