Warriors Interested In Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Hassan Whiteside

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jun 24, 2016 9:24 pm

While the Golden State Warriors will pursue Kevin Durant as their first option in free agency, they have alternate plans in place and that includes going after a big.

The Warriors believe they can't thrive without a center who attacks the rim and scores inside.

Golden State is considering pursuing Al Horford, Joakim Noah and Hassan Whiteside.

Opposing defenses began to abandon Andrew Bogut and Festus Ezeli, which made stopping the Warriors' primary options simpler.

They could've had Drummond over Barnes, but Lacob said Drummond didn't know how to play basketball.

Yeah cant believe the guy who built a bottom team into a champion couldnt get everything right.

How many playoff games has Drummond been winning so far?

As much as Barnes if you don't count being carried by your teammates while being the 6th or 7th option.

Drummond would be a terrible fit with the Warriors. The Cavs proved how useless he is in the playoffs when you can essentially stop the Pistons offense in their tracks by doing nothing but Hack-a-Drummond until SVG was forced to remove him until the final 2 minutes (where you still can't run a play for him). Adding him to the Splash Brothers would be a dream come true to all opposing teams.

The Cavs sure abandoned bogut. They didn't need to worry about him as they won 3vin a row after he twisted his knee.
Somewhat relatedly, a criticism I would make of Stotts is that he's gotten away from the 3point attempt too much. - Epicurus

You can't be serious. Drummond on GS with that type of shooting around him would be unguardable. Cavs didn't stop the Pistons by fouling Drummond (they rarely even did it). They stopped them by doubling Reggie and packing the paint on Drummond because they could afford to with no shooters on the Pistons. Just like they could over-commit to the perimeter vs GS because GS had no paint presence. That wouldn't have been possible if they had Drummond in the middle. It would've been open Curry/Klay 3s or Dre dunks.

It's odd to argue his FTs would make him a bad fit when Bogut is 40% FT. Curry/Klay + Drummond would've fit perfect and been a dynasty.

Lacob after the draft:

I'll just say that he's a very, very impressive athlete. He's not an impressive basketball player today.

a healthy noah would be huge because he has major smarts and is a great passer. but any one of the three would be a big move up

Yeah, West and Meyer just walked in the Warriors facility and did all those right. Very informative comment. That's like saying Steve Job didn't do **** and his underlings get that credit. lol.

Yeah Lacob didn't do anything at all...he only bought the team from a horrible ass owner and replaced all the dysfunctional players and front office people and make it what it is today...what a loser Lacob is for doing that.

Yes they did. Lol. Anytime the Pistons got a run, they fouled Drummond, and cut it back to where Van Gundy had to take him out of the game. They did this in both games in Detroit. Sorry, but until Drummond works on his terrible FT %, there's no way in hell GSW or any main contender feel like they missed out on him. He's among the very worst in league history to the point where it's a critical problem to have him on the floor, especially in the postseason where every possession counts.

That's actually true, his underlings deserved more credit

Noah can't even covert dunks and lay ups. Opponents figured out how to ignore him years ago and all but neutralized his cute passing game. He's a worse for than Bogut or Ezeli.

noah's an excellent passer, but bogut is better at everything else. jo hasn't even been able to finish around the basket or make FTs the last two seasons
