Russell Westbrook Not Seeking Trade From Thunder

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 25, 2016 11:17 pm

Russell Westbrook does not want the Oklahoma City Thunder to trade him this offseason, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Westbrook wants to play this coming season with the Thunder but he is unsure about his future beyond that in 2017 when he becomes a free agent.

But Westbrook will give serious thought to signing an extension with the Thunder.

With gs a lock to win it all why bother to be traded. Its a waste of time. He will lead the league in scoring. He's always been a stat pad guy. Trade him b4 he walks. Easy move. Rebuild aroun cameron payne

That's not stupid at all. Get some young guys and build around Payne Kanter and the Kiwi. They have all the time in the world it's gonna be Cavs Warriors for the next couple of years anyway.

The Thunder would be stupid to let two superstars walk without compensation two years in a row. Durant played them for fools and westbrook is doing the same.

He wants to go to LAL, but doesn't want them to give up any of their
young core and so he'll join them for a year and see what it's like
playing at back home and with the new young core :)

Smart thinking russ.

Regardless of what ppl think other teams will be willing to offer to trade for RW, what smart team is going to trade away valuable young talent and/or high draft picks to rent RW for one year?

He will be traded, but most likely, OKC won't get fair compensation in return.

Without RW indicating that he is going to resign, they need to trade him. Even if they don't get a great package for him, they will get some young prospects but more importantly, their own pick will likely be quite high (top 5) without RW. If they keep RW and he walks at the end of the year, they lose him without any compensation and their own pick will likely not even be close to the lottery in a fairly good draft year

If the Thunder can somehow get that package for an expiring WB, they'd be mental not to do it. On the flip side, even if Boston got a commitment from Westbrook to sign long term, that still feels like way too much to give up.

Russ will Play The Year out And Sabonis will emerge into what his father was And Westbrook will re-up During The summer. Thats what I Believe will happen And Oladipo Is going to be way better playing alongside him. The Thunder will win 53 games And Get The 4th seed out West. That Sabonis kid has serious talent even off The bench I think he'll make an impact immediately And Russ will Love his intensity on defense along with Adams,Roberson, And Oladipo. If Presti can bring in Rudy Gay right now Russ will Stay.

#1 Pick in this years fantasy draft - no question
Will set a record for most triple doubles in a season, if healthy (knock on wood)

You think he is going to have 42 or more triple-doubles?

Russ will be an absolute legend if he stays and wins one in OKC while KD is over in Oakland. I want this to happen more than anything else
