Andre Iguodala To Seriously Consider Leaving Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 19, 2017 3:58 pm

Andre Iguodala plans to give serious consideration to leaving the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

Teams would have to show Iguodala a vision of moving towards contention.

The Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks are expected to pursue discussions with Iguodala.

Iguodala could command as much as $20 million annually on the open market.

Golden State’s salary situation will be complicated, even with Durant possibly willing to accept approximately $3.5 million less in salary in a one-year deal to accommodate the re-signing of the team’s core players.

Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News reported last week Iguodala was expected to re-sign with the Warriors on a contract worth anywhere between $8 million and $12 million per season.

he should go be the OG on the timberpups. think it would be very positive for their development, and thibs could use a vet in the mold of AI to bridge the gap

I am split on him coming to Minny. He is older and it would be tough to see him worth almost $20mil per in another year or two but, they really need a veteran presence who works hard and plays D at a higher level and has championship experience.

Teams are going to overpay in the chance of breaking up the dubs.

Here I thought Iggy would get the full MLE from someone, but $20 mil per? For a 33 year old who doesn't shoot well? Pass.

There's no nightlife in Utah, so why would he go there?

Dubs bring the league revenue, which brings every team money. Why sacrifice your cap space so LeBron can win a ring?

He could be had for probably 15mil/yr so no need to pay 20mil/yr, but the team that does needs to be a contender and show they are serious

This will be his last big payday. Tougher for him to take a paycut. He can't make it up in endorsements the same way KD can.

Silver should pay $25 mil himself to try to take him away from the Warriors.

Even if a team sign away Iggy for much more money, Ws will be just fine. McCaw is not all ready but not too far off to take over Iggy's role. McCaw can do pretty much everything and all he need are some more meat and those Iggy biceps.

Mcaw is able to defend like Iggy please.. If Iggy leaves this will weaken GSW so I hope a team lures him away with the promise of more minutes more money same as livingston this will weaken GSW especially against LBJ you will have less players to throw at him.. Iggy is a great player..

Except Iggy DOES NOT WANT more minutes. Did you watch the last season at all? He hardly played and finally got things sorted out by the finals. Thats what he wants. All this chatter is nothing more than his agent leaking a bunch of BS because I promise you that nobody is dumb enough to pay an aged athletic player whos about 75% of what he used to be 20mil per season.

Exactly. which is why he can be had for $14-15mil/yr...i don't think any team will pay him 20mil/yr.
