Basketball Hall Of Fame Inducts 13-Member Class For 2024

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inducted a 13-member class for 2024 on Saturday.

With Vince Carter, Chauncey Billups, and Jerry West announced earlier in the week, the other members include: Seimone Augustus, Michael Cooper, Walter Davis, Dick Barnett, Michele Timms, Charles Smith, Harley Redin, Bo Ryan, Doug Collins, and Herb Simon.

Augustus, Cooper, Davis, Barnett, and Timms will enter as players. Smith, Redin, and Ryan will enter as coaches, with Collins and Simon as contributors.

The enshrinement ceremony will take place in August.

If you didn't know anything about the game of basketball, or how it's played, that picture of Vince would be hilarious: Is it a game of keep away? Is it who can squeeze the ball the hardest? Did he just get a prize and is all excited?

8 players. The five lesser known players plus Vince, Billups and Jerry West.

Absolutely for Billups. Chauncey actually led his pistons team to a championship.... he's more deserving of it than Vince is on merits of leadership alone. Please enlighten me as to why you think his induction should be questioned...

I like Billups, but one fluky season shouldn't get you in. He was a good player, but nothing special. Should not get in IMO.

There was nothing "fluky" about that championship.... at all. Those pistons thoroughly dominated and exorcised every demon they had in that post season stretch. Chauncey and that pistons team tapped into a rare focus and accomplished what most teams fail to... educate yourself a bit more on that path, and you'll come to the realization that a group of unwanted, underrated journeymen banded together to grab history by the horns, and managed to etch their name into NBA eternity.

I know they played well and deserved the title. However, that team winning was fluky IMO. You can have a different one. Regardless it was one season. I'm a fan of Billups, but his career isn't in the realm of HoF admission.
