Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to return for one of his team's final three games. The Wolves play the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, then finish with the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.
Towns has been out since March 4, after tearing a meniscus in his left knee. Towns was expected to miss at least four weeks. In recent days, Towns has ramped up to playing five-on-five with full contact.
Following the Timberwolves victory over the Washington Wizards, star guard Anthony Edwards exclaimed "Yessir! KAT's back baby!" Minnesota has remained in the race for the Western Conference's top seed in the playoffs, despite Towns' absence. The Wolves enter Wednesday tied with the Denver Nuggets atop the West, with the Oklahoma City Thunder one game behind.
