Blake Griffin Announces Retirement From NBA

Blake Griffin has announced his retirement from the NBA after 14 season.

Griffin was a six-time All-Star and made five All-NBA teams. Griffin finished third in MVP voting in 2014, but was a Second Team selection behind Kevin Durant and LeBron James at the forward positions.

Griffin signed a five-year, $173 million contract with the Clippers during the 2017 offseason, but was traded in January 2018 to the Detroit Pistons.

Absolutely crazy how hard this dude fell off.

He had a solid career averaged near 20 ppg and close to 10 boards for 10 seasons. Early years he was an explosive finisher and definitely relied on his gifted athleticism early on in his career.

Injuries are a huge part & getting traded to the Pistons almost never helps anybody's career nowadays.

It is weird he waited until now to announce this since he didn't' t play this season at all and only played about 50 games last season.

I remember Blake breaking his hand after punching a Clippers team employee -- and not being able to play for a few months. I think his fall-off began sometime around then.
